Hap-Bee Birthday!

I have a peek at the Butterfly Challenge blog most weeks, but this is the first time I've entered one of my cards.  The theme is 'The Ugly Bug Ball' and all entries have to include at least one flying insect.  I still remember the song from my childhood when it was often on the radio.  I regularly taught it to the four and five year olds in my class when the topic was 'Minibeasts'...... can you believe I'm singing it now in my head!!!  So, I got my thinking cap on quickly, as the challenge finishes in a few hours.
I decided to go with bees, as I have a Lavinia bee stamp which I've never used.  I knew I had a honey pot die somewhere, but it took me ages to find it!  It's a 'never used before die' - a Sizzlets die that came as part of a set.  I must have had it at least 10 years!  The bees were stamped with a Memento ink pad and coloured in with Promarkers, with a little clear sparkle on the wings.  The embossing folder is Darice 'Honeycomb'.

I would like to enter my card for the following challenges:

  1. It's hard to believe you haven't used these things before*, Liz, when together they made up such an adorable card! Don't you love how it all came together? I think it's one of the best honeycomb e/f, die, bee, honey pot, and "hap-bee" sediment designs I've ever seen!! And great use of snippets, too! Thank you for playing in my second NBUS Challenge!! Hugs, Darnell

(*I'm lying. It's not hard to believe in the least since I sit here with more than 10-year-old stamps and products behind me that I've never used!!)

  2. While I was looking for the honey pot die, I came across quite a few other stamps and dies I've had for ages and had forgotten about. LOL!
