Dream

Welcome to my new follower, Carole of Card and Cake. Thank you for joining me.

When I saw that the Less is More Challenge this week is One Layer with the theme of 'Dreams', I knew which stamp I wanted to use.  I hadn't anticipated taking four days to find the stamp, so much for my organising system!

First I made made a square stencil, using a scrap of card and put it over the base card, securing with low tack tape.  Then I punched a 1 1/2" circle to use as a mask for the moon and positioned it in the square aperture, using repositional glue.  Next I used an Adirondack 'Denim' inkpad, applying the ink with an Ink Duster.  After removing the stencil and mask, I stamped the Little Claire 'Do All the Things' stamp with Versafine 'Onyx'.  The text reads 'Do all the things you've dreamt of, all day long.'

I'm off the a craft fair in Shepton Mallet tomorrow, with a friend.  I was lucky enough to win two entrance tickets, so that means we've got more pennies to spend at the show.  Fingers crossed there will be a bargain or two there! :-)

I am joining in the following challenges:

  1. This is beautiful Liz and I love your pretty blue masked square with the lovely silhouette stamp on top which stands out beautifully against the white masked moon in the background. Those brushes give a lovely smooth finish to the blended ink, although I'm sure there is a lot of skill in wielding the brush too. I didn't realise there was a craft fair at Shepton Mallet tomorrow or I may well have come along as it is only an hour or so from where I live here in Somerset. We could have met up for a chat but unfortunately I have something else on now so can't do it. Have a great time and get lots of lovely goodies. x

    1. The Ink Dusters are so easy to use, Pat. I just about mastered using a brayer for backgrounds, but that technique always seemed to waste a lot of ink.

It's a shame you're busy tomorrow. It would have been good to finally meet IRL. Shepton Mallet is only about an hour away from me too, but in the opposite direction. There's always next year, or perhaps the craft show in Taunton next year, as that's probably near you too.

  2. What a gorgeous stamp Liz, well worth the 4 days it took to find it! I reckon our craft rooms must look a bit similar ;-) You've created such a perfectly dreamy look, really soft and delicate. Fab card! Thanks so much for playing at Less is More, and enjoy the craft show :)

  12. So glad you found the stamp, it does look very dreamy on the blue.
I hope you enjoy the show, it's just down the road from me but I daren't go! It used to be once a year but now it's twice which seems dangerous.

  21. Perfect for our challenge, Liz. I love the silhouette on the dreamy blue. It did make me chuckle though, it's so frustrating when you know you have something and you just can't find it! I hope you had a good time at the show.

  22. Yes, I often spend more time looking for things than crafting! It was worth the search for this stamp - your masking work is fabulous and the whole effect is perfect.
