Twofer - Butterflies

Darnell's Twofer Challenge started when we were on holiday and now that we're home there are only a couple of days left to join in the challenge!  Challenge #5 is to use butterflies, making two different cards, for two different occasions, using the same stamp or die.

I decided on the Memory Box 'Vivienne Butterfly' for both cards.  I knew there wasn't something quite right about the card on the right.  Just before making my post live, I suddeny realised I'd forgotten to add the butterfly's body!   So I quickly added the body and took new photos for this post.

I am joining in the Twofer Challenge #5 with this pair of cards.

My first card is my second attempt at an Impossible Fold card.  I started with a piece of 7" x 5" green card.  The patterned papers are from a very old Provocraft paper pad.  For this butterfly, I also used the Memory Box 'Darla Butterfly' which I cut out in white and attached the green 'Vivienne Butterfly' die cut over the top.  The butterfly is attached just in the middle to leave the wings free. I used a Woodware punch for the leaves.

This is a side view of the card.

I am joining in the following challenges with this card:

For my second card, I covered the front of a card blank with blue card.  I used the Memory Box 'Vivienne Butterfly' die in the middle of a snippet of yellow card, creating an aperture.  Behind the aperture I attached a snippet of grey card.  I die cut a blue 'MB 'Vivienne Butterfly' and popped it in the aperture.  The edge of the yellow card was die cut with a MB 'Stitched Country Border' die and I added a 'Blue Babe' Nuvo Crystal Drop in each of the scallops.  I finished off my card with a sentiment from the Happy Little Stampers 'Dandelion Wishes' set of stamps.

I am joining in the following challenges with this card:

  2. Two beautiful butterfly cards Liz and love that impossible fold card with the pretty yellow and green paper, and then the bright blue and yellow with the scallop edge which is so elegant, and the Nuvo drops finish it perfectly and the choice of butterfly looks pretty on both, and the white under layer on the first one looks great too. x
