Sunflowers

The restrictions on distances we are allowed to travel have been lifted in the UK, so we took the opportunity to travel about an hour or so to visit our daughter for the first time since lockdown yesterday ..... socially distancing outside.  Jo first contracted Covid-19 eight weeks ago and was very ill for the first couple of weeks and a test two weeks ago revealed that she was still positive for the virus.  She has finally been given the all clear to return to work next week.  It's been a long and worrying eight weeks, but a relief to be able to see her yesterday.

A Get Well card to share today, to add to my box of readymade cards.

The image is an old pre-loved Hook, Line and Inker wood mounted stamp, which I bought over 15 years ago.  The date on the stamp is 1993!   I coloured the image with Promarkers, before die cutting with a Memory Box 'Stitched Rectangle Layers' die.  The layered image is raised up on foam pads.  The row of tiny pearls along the yellow strip of card are white, although they look yellow in the photo.  The sentiment is from the Happy Stampers 'Doodled Flowers' set of stamps.  I'm not sure of the brand of the embossing folder as there is nothing written on it, but I think it may be a Creative Expressions one.  All the card, except for the base card, was snippets so I'll be sharing my card over in the Playground.

I am joining in the following challenges.

  1. What a bright and beautiful sunflower image Liz, and the EF does have the look of a Creative Expressions design. Great that you managed a social distanced visit with your daughter and great news that she is clear of the virus now and able to go back to work, it must have been a relief to see her in the flesh too and hopefully she is feeling much stronger now. x

  2. Happy faces on these sunflowers Liz! Lovely card.
Was weird earlier this week, I have had no problems so far but just felt agitated?
Was impressed with the measures at the plant place - social distancing well enforced - no children under 16 allowed, maximum of 2 people per trolley and limited numbers allowed in. Was less stressful than the supermarket!
Has settled my 'cabin fever' for now anyway! Stay safe.

  6. I'm so glad you got to see your daughter and that your daughter is better. I'm hoping to have a distanced reunion with my daughter soon - she also had Covid, but she wasn't really ill with it and only had the test because she's a midwife. Your beautiful card reminds me of her ...the sunflower, as well as being a reminder of your blog...was the motif she was having on her wedding favours. Unfortunately, the wedding has had to be postponed for a year! This card, with it's fabulous dry embossing, would cheer anyone up!
