Triple Stamping

A card I made today for a card swap using the Triple Stamping technique.  I remember first seeing this style of card a couple of years ago and although it looked complicated to make, but when I found a video tutorial online I realised that it's really quite easy.

The stamps are from a Stampin' Up set, 'Bloom by Bloom' and I randomly stamped all over the white card.  The sentiment stamp is from a Happy Little Stampers set of stamps, 'Dandelion Wishes', stamped with one of the colours I used for the flowers.  All the purple layers are raised up on foam tape to add dimension.

Noel Reindeer

It's the 25th, so the start of the February Rudolph Days Challenge.  It's a short month, so only a four days to enter the challenge.
My card today uses a recently bought die which I first saw over in the Playground.  It happened to fall into my basket when I ordered another die which I also saw in the Playground - thanks for enabling me twice, Di!  😉  The die cut used up a snippet of brown card with a Lil'inker, 'Noel Word Die'.  I added a red nose, (the waste from another die cut) and two googly eyes.  I've has the pot of eyes for at least ten years, so they are almost antique!   Two strips of washi tape finished off my card.  I'm way behind making Christmas cards this year, so I'll be making a batch of this design as it was quick and easy to make.  It will be good to use some of my many reels washi tape too.

Butterfly Challenge - A is for ........

Welcome to my new follower, Mervi of 'Leikkaan kortit' (I Cut the Cards).

The Butterfly Challenge has added an extra element of a card shape for challenges this year. This fortnight's challenge is 'The Letter A for Aperture' and on the wheel is also Amber/Almond/ Apple Green/ Acetate/Anything goes, always including at least one butterfly.  So I decided to set myself a challenge to use all the six elements, including the card shape.  There are tutorials for the card shape HERE and Mrs A has a really good tip for hiding the edges of the acetate so that it doesn't show from the inside.  My 'Anything Goes' is stamping.
I started with a red card blank and die cut a square aperture. The patterned paper has an almond coloured background and amber and apple green as two of the colours in the pattern.  The butterfly is a SU stamp from the Butterfly Gala set, which I stamped on an almond coloured snippet of card with an amber coloured ink pad, before punching out the shape.  I added a little colour to the butterfly with Promarkers and added a die cut body using a Memory Box butterfly die, before attaching to the front of the acetate.

This shows the card open, although the photograph isn't the best because of the angle of the card to keep it open and the bad light.

Reach for the Stars

The Twofer Challenge this month has the theme 'Stars'.   To enter the challenge two cards need to be made using the same stamp, stencil, or die for the prompt on two different designs for two different occasions.

I don't use stencils very often, so I thought I would use a stars stencil for my cards.

I am joining in the Twofer Challenge with these two cards.

My first card is a CAS, one layer good luck card.  The stencil was a freebie which came with a magazine some time ago.  I used an Adirondack 'Sunshine Yellow' ink pad, applying the ink through the stencil with an Ink Duster, masking off a few of the stars.  The sentiment stamp is an old wood mounted stamp I bought many years ago and it's one of my favourite stamps.  I used a yellow marker pen to add a little colour to the moon.

My second card has the same stencilled stars, stencilled using the same yellow ink as I used in the last card.  I die cut the circle with a Memory Box 'Stitched Circle', added a few small, green punched stars and layered on a green MB 'Stitched Circle' die cut.  The background was embossed with a Creative Espressions 'Shimmering Stars' e/f.  To finish my card, I added a strip of sentiment ribbon, backed with a thin strip of deep yellow card.

Cupcakes

When I saw that the Allsorts challenge this week was  Kitchen/Cooking/Baking, I knew that I had some patterned paper from an old Dovecraft paper pad which would fit the bill.

I cut off the right hand side of the card front and covered it with the patterned paper, leaving a thin white border.  The green card was embossed with a Cuttlebug cupcake embossing folder and attached to the inside of the card blank.  I used a Dovecraft cupcake punch, embossed the two parts with two different Cuttlebug embossing folders to add some texture and raised up the white part with foam pads.  To match the cupcakes on the patterned paper, I added some tiny pink hearts which were the waste from a Memory Box 'Heart of Hearts' die cut.  The computer generated sentiment is raised up on foam pads.

This photo shows the card open.

Labradoodle

I made this card for a friend who is celebrating her birthday today.  She has a chocolate brown Labradoodle, so this precoloured image was just perfect.

The image is a from a set of digi stamp from Beccy's place, 'Dog Tales' and I added a computer generated sentiment before die cutting with a Memory Box 'Stitched Square'.  I had planned to add a peach coloured mat, slightly bigger than the die cut image square, but I had a Senior Moment and accidentally die cut it the same size.   I was just about cut another one slightly bigger, but then I decided to use the original one and offset it and I quite liked the effect.   The background is embossed with a Creative Expression 'Lattice Pawprint' e/f. I added a strip of the peach card down the side.  The ribbon is cream, so before layering it over the peach card, I backed it with a strip of cream card to keep the ribbon looking cream, although it looks more like white in the photo.

Ladies' Night

Welcome to my latest follower, Marianne of Marianne's Craftroom.

Two cards today for the two Chairmen at a Ladies' Night dinner/dance last weekend.  The evening clashed with a craft retreat that I wanted to attend and I decided to go to the craft retreat. (It wasn't a difficult decision really 😉 and my makes are in the previous post.)  I wanted to make two similar cards, one feminine and and one masculine, wishing them a lovely evening. The Chairmen are not related, so I just changed the colour.
The embossing folder is one I bought reduced recently in Hobbycraft.  I hadn't seen the e/f before, but it embosses and cuts at the same time.  I used purple pearlised card on the feminine card and blue pearlised card on the masculine card. The text and image is computer generated.  So two cards that were really quick and easy to make.

Elephants

A Twist and Pop card I made for a card swap.  This is one of my favourite folds, as I love the surprise when the card is opened ......and it's far easier to make than it looks. I chose an elephant theme for this card as the recipient had an elephant as her profile picture.
The elephant on the front of the card is from the Sweet Dixie ' Toy Giraffe and Elephant' set of dies.

The patterned paper is from a paper pad I think I bought in The Works.  The baby elephants are Tonic 'Adorable Elephants' die cuts.  I added a plain white, stitched panel to write the message.  The pink and grey card were all snippets, so I be off to the Playground to share my card.

I've just has a wonderful weekend at a Stampin' Up retreat, where we made so many lovely projects.  Here is a photo of everything I made over the two days.

Love is....

Another 'Love' card today.

The word stamp is an old Docrafts wood mounted one with the date 2004 on the side, so I guess I've had it quite a while!  I stamped it with Versafine 'Satin Red'.   I die cut the image with a cross stitch die, hand cut a red mat to layer it on and used a strip of cross stitch ribbon to match.   The background is embossed with a Creative Expressions 'Heart Lattice' e/f.  I added a punched scalloped heart, embossed with a Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots' e/f to finish off my card.

Love Hearts

A CAS card today to join in a few challenges.  I've already made my hubby's Valentine card, so this one will go into my box of ready-made card for perhaps an anniversary or engagement.

I covered the front of the card blank with deep red pearlised paper.   I used a Memory Box 'Heart Waterfall' die in a piece of white card, trimmed it to just smaller than the card blank and layered over the card front.  The die cuts out hearts from the middle of four of the hearts, so I stuck these white hearts back in position.  The sentiment was punched with a Fiskars punch.

Waterfall card

A card today in black, white and red which I made for a recent card swap.  I've been meaning to try to make a waterfall card for ages and when a friend gave me a set of dies to make a waterfall for my birthday, it seemed a perfect opportunity to make my first waterfall card.
The dies were from the Tonic 'Bouquets & Banners Waterfall' set.  I had expected some instructions with the set of dies, but there were none, so I had find a few YouTube clips to try and work it out.  I used a Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots' embossing folder for the background and added a couple of black Card Candi to the bottom corners.

These photos show how the waterfall parts of the card open.

A Pint for the Birthday Boy

A masculine birthday card today.

The navy blue frame was made with a  Sue Wilson 'Classic Adorned Squares' die.  The background is a Sue Wilson 'Stitched Square Peg Board' die,  a new set of dies I had for Christmas.  I put navy blue card behind to highlight the tiny holes.  I used a Sweet Dixie die, 'Beer Tankard' with matt silver and inlaid with navy blue.

Ribbon and Texture

The theme of the Crafty Calendar Challenge this month is 'Add  Texture and Use Ribbon'.  Our generous sponsors this month are Dr. Digi's House of Stamps and Craft Ribbons.  This is my DT card using one of the digi stamps I was kindly given by one of the sponsors to work with.

The image is Dr Digi's House of Stamps 'Happy Hour Horace', which I coloured with Promarkers and layered on a green mat.  The sentiment is computer generated.  I used an Embossalicious embossing folder, 'Petite Dot' for the background.  Two pieces of ribbon and a dark green brad finished off my card.

The Crafty Calendar Challenge ends on 28th February.   There is lots of inspiration from the DT on the blog and I looking forward to seeing all your beautiful creations.   As well as a Top 3, there will be randomly drawn winners for prizes from:
