Under the Sea

Another fancy fold which I saw demonstrated recently in a Facebook video.  I'm sure it must have a name, but I don't know what it is.  So please leave me a comment if you know.

The patterned paper was from a 12" x 12" paper pad from The Works.  The seahorse is a very old Sizziz die, one of the first I bought when I discovered die cutting many years ago, when the only dies were the thick ones.  The ovals are Memory Box 'Stitched Oval Layers' die cuts and the seahorse is raised up on foam pads.

When the card is open, it reveals an interlinked, concertina centre.  I added a few punched silver dolphins.

70th Birthday

We went to a family birthday lunch today and yesterday evening I realised that I hadn't made a card!  Looking through my ready made cards, I had nothing suitable.  So I grabbed a a few things and this quick and easy card is what I came up with.

The recipient used to be a publican, so this Digi Stamp Boutique digi stamp, which I'd already printed, was perfect.  I coloured the image with Promarkers and layered it on a beige mat.  The sentiment was already printed too and I layered it and raised it up on foam pads.  The patterned paper was from a Dovecraft 'True Blue' paper pad.  Five Card Candi finished off my card.  We had a lovely lunch and as we left our house in the middle of a power cut, we were glad to be eating out.

Christmas Star

I returned home yesterday from a few days break in beautiful Surrey.  It was good to get away and have plenty of walks in the fresh air.

Well here we are, half way towards next Christmas and time for the Rudolph Days June Challenge.

I used Lisa Horton 'Cubes' embossing folder with silver mirror card for the background, which posed the usual problems trying to photograph it!  The stars are Lisa Horton 'Layered Stars' from the Stitched Collection.  The layered sentiment is raised up on foam pads and I added a few tiny clear gems, coloured with a blue Promarker, to add some Christmas sparkle.

Mini Circle Easel Cards

We returned home today from a holiday in our little caravan in North Devon.  As usual, I took a few bits and pieces of crafty things with me and I made these five circle easel cards.

I used Memory Box 'Stitched Scalloped Circles' and 'Stitched Circle Layers' dies.  The butterfly is Simply Creative 'Butterfly' die and the sentiment is a stamp from a Papermania set.  All the patterned paper and coloured card was from my snippets box.  The cards fold flat for posting and measure 4" in diameter.

Orange and White

A CAS Get Well card to share today.

The background was embossed with a Couture Creations 'Hyper Magical' e/f.  I've had this embossing folder for quite a while, but this is the first time I've used it.  I made the butterfly with two Memory Box butterfly dies, 'Pippi' and 'Isabella' with a row of orange 'Nuvo Crystal Drops' to show the flight path.   I added a strip of orange and white ribbon and the sentiment is raised up on foam pads.

Five Tags

I wanted to play with some new Lavinia stamps, so decided to make some tags.

The tag shapes were made with a Stampin' Up punch, using snippets of white card.  I used Distress Inks for the backgrounds with Lavinia stencils on four of them.  I coloured the fairy house in the middle with Promarkers.  The ribbon is tied with twine.

70th Birthday Napkin Fold Card

The Butterfly Challenge this time is 'N for Napkin Fold'.  I haven't seen this fold before, but Mrs A has put the instructions HERE.  I decided to use all elements of the challenge - Napkin Fold/ Navy Blue/Naples Yellow/New York Pink/Numbers
+ a Butterfly. (The light is not very good today, so not the best of photos.)

I had a little mishap when I messed up the measuring for the scoring of the card base. (Senior Moment!)  There was a slight gap in the middle between the two front pieces, instead of them overlapping, so I added an extra panel down the middle, attached to the left hand side.  The patterned paper is from an old paper pad which I think came a magazine cover gift and the number dies I used came from The Works. The card is kept closed with a piece of pink organza ribbon, attached at the back of the card.

The card opens with the Napkin element in the middle of the card. I added two white Simply Creative 'Butterfly' die cuts to the side panels.

The 'Napkin' opens up to reveal the sentiment and a place for the message.

Birthday Bear

A fancy fold card today, this one is called a Double Fan Fold Card.

This lovely Stampendous 'Cling Bear Balloon' rubber stamp was a gift from Mia and I coloured the image with Promarkers, using a white pen to add some detail to the balloon.  The panels were covered with patterned paper from an old Christmas paper pad and embossed card using a Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots' e/f.  The layered sentiment is raised up on foam pads.  The card measures 5" x 7" when folded and folds flat for posting.

Cute Bunny

The June Crafty Calendar Challenge begins today, with the theme 'Anything Goes'.  We are sponsored this month by Digi Doodle Studio Digital Stamps.

Our sponsor generously gave the DT digi stamps to work with and I chose to use Bunnie Dew.   I coloured the image with Promarkers and kept the design fairly CAS.  I used Lisa Horton's 'Scallop Layered Squares' dies for the layers.  The sentiment was a stamp from my stash, stamped with Versafine Clair 'Morning Mist'.

The Crafty Calendar Challenge ends on 28th June.  Please pop over to the challenge blog to see the beautiful cards the DT have made for inspiration.
