80th Birthday

We celebrated a friend's 80th birthday yesterday and this is the card I made for him.

I used a new Craft Addiction 'Highland Cow' die with dark brown card and attached to the middle of a 7"x7" card blank. I used the die again with textured light brown card and and inlaid all the little pieces.  Using snippets of black and pink with the die, I inlaid the eye, nose and tongue.  The sentiment is a stamp from the Stampin' Up 'Humming Along' set, stamped with Versafine Clair 'Acorn.  I used number dies from the Works and to balance out the card I added a few pale brown pearls.

I am joining in the following challenges with this card:

I made a collection with a group of friends for the birthday boy and this is the money wallet I made for the notes.
I bought the Happy Birthday die from Ebay a long time ago.  The Happy Birthday die cut was layered on a stitched circle die cut and I added white peeloff numbers in the centre.

The front of the card was cut across the middle and the bottom part attached to the back of the card using strong double sided tape on the side and bottom, forming a pocket for the notes. The patterned papers are from The Range.

I am joining in the following challenges with this money wallet:

  1. What a terrific 80th birthday card using the Craft Addiction Highland Cow Liz, and I love the way you have added the inset pieces to give the hair a two tone look, and the added eye and snout in black and the pink tongue really bring it to life, and then the super note card using that lovely leaf design dp, and the orange, black and white central number and sentiment mat coordinate perfectly. x

  5. That's an impressive highland cow although I didn't realise it was such a large die. I'm sure the birthday boy will love his card and of course the gift wallet.

  14. What a fantastic 80th birthday card—the Highland cow is such a striking focal point! The inlaid pieces give wonderful texture and depth, and the addition of black and pink details really brings him to life. The balance of elements is spot on, with the sentiment and pearls complementing the design beautifully. The money wallet is a wonderful coordinating piece, adding an extra touch of celebration to the occasion. A brilliant combination of creativity and thoughtful design!
