Zen Butterfly

The Stamping Sensations Challenge theme this month is 'Favourite Stamps'.  My favourite stamps are Lavinia stamps, which I first started collecting nearly 20 years ago when I saw the stamps demonstrated at a craft fayre.  I used one of my favourites stamps on this card, bought many years ago.

I decided to keep the design fairly CAS to let the beautiful 'Zen Butterfly' take centre stage.  The butterfly was stamped with Memento 'Tuxedo Black' and coloured with Promarkers. I covered the butterfly with a clear Wink of Stella glitter brush.  The stamp has been discontinued, but it's still available on the Lavinia website as a digi stamp.  I used Spellbinders 'Classic Scalloped Ovals' to die cut the image and mat.  The background was embossed with a Spellbinders 'Dainty Dots' embossing folder.

I am joining in the following challenges:

  1. That is a beautiful and stylish butterfly Liz and I love the pretty colours you have used on it and it sits very happily on the double layered yellow and white scallop mat, also the embossed Dainty Dots make a wonderful background...a terrific card. x

  4. The clean design really lets that intricate butterfly shine. The soft Promarker blends give the wings a luminous feel, and the Wink of Stella adds just the right touch of sparkle without overwhelming the CAS layout. The scalloped oval layers frame the image beautifully, and the Dainty Dots embossing adds subtle texture that keeps the focus on the butterfly. A lovely way to showcase a longtime favorite stamp.
