Wild Poppies

The Lavinia Stamps challenge this month is to use ribbon.  I can't resist buying ribbons I like, but when it comes to using them on my cards, I usually don't know where to start.  The result is that I have a large selection of unused ribbon reels!  So today I took the plunge and opened a new reel of red and white ribbon to go with the Lavinia 'Wild Poppies' stamp I wanted to use.
I added a couple of little black gems to the centre of two of the poppies. The poppies were stamped with Versafine 'Satin Red'.

    That's really lovely - everything about it's just right, from the dots on the ribbon echoing the dotty embossed background, to the finishing touch of the black gems on the poppies - beautiful.

    I'm with you on the ribbons. Never know how to use them effectively. You've done wonderfully with that element on this pretty red & white card. Love those poppies and also that tiny texture on the embossed background. A delightful card. Congrats on being a Highlighted Snippeteer! TFS & Hugs

    Hi Liz, this is a gorgeous card. Love the embossed base and that you finished the red poppies of with black gems. I can't resist ribbon either and have many untouched reels of ribbon ... perhaps I should be making for that challenge too :) Elizabeth xx
