Well, today is my DH's last day at work. He's retiring from his full-time job as an accountant and just working a few hours a week at home. It will be strange having him home all the time - he will realise how much more time I spend crafting during the day than I admit to! LOL! It really seems like the end of an era, so here is the card I made for him.
The stamped image is by Little Claire and coloured with Promarkers and was die-cut using a Memory Box Stitched Rectangle die. I used patterned papers from a Papermania paper stack - a bargain buy from The Works. The sentiment was die-cut using a Sizzix die. I added grey Card Candi to finish off my card.
I would like to enter my card for the following challenges:
Ah. I wonder if that is how he envisioned his retirement! I found it strange when we both retired, but soon after that we started on our travels and ended up out here in Spain, so there has been plenty to keep us both busy. I hope his retirement is a happy one. What a perfect image you chose to stamp! Kate x
ReplyDeleteIt's a lovely card, I hope his retirement will be a happy one.

Hi Liz,
ReplyDeleteoooooooo! He is going to love being retired, but may find time goes a lot quicker as you seem to slow down your pace when you retire.
Love your super card it's just right for the occasion.
I find having my hubby around all the time I get less done, as we sit and talk too much. lol.
Luckily he does have his hobby of mending old clocks in his shed at the bottom of the garden so we both enjoy our own hobbies too.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
Super retirement card, great image and fab colouring, super backing paper.
ReplyDeleteGood luck on coping with your Hubby at, home, took me 3 years to train mine.

I hope your husband enjoys being retired, you've got the nice (hopefully) summer months to start with. I bet he really liked this card you made for him, the stamp you used is perfect. Lovely backing papers too.
ReplyDeleteI also love the die cut penny farthing bicycle in your previous post. It looks fabulous cut from the mirri card.

ReplyDeleteMy DH does lots of the zzzzz already, Bonnie. LOL!
DeleteCongrats to DH on his semi-retirement. Hopefully his being home all the time won't be too much of a good thing. :-)
ReplyDeleteThat image is too funny and I really like the pattern papers you used.
