Before I go any further, I'd better explain what a Gashead is.
The name comes from when Bristol Rovers football club's old ground was next to a gasworks and the deep smell of the gas often wafted across the pitch during matches. This led to the team becoming known as The Gas and the fans as Gasheads, names that are still used today. Rovers play in blue and white quartered shirts and every good Rovers fan knows that Santa is a Gashead and his favourite oufit is really blue and white. I've made a few of these cards to send to Rovers fans.
I first saw this Cheery Lynn's 'Santa's Laundry' die on Di's blog over in the Playground HERE last year. I resisted temptation then, but decided as it was still one of my favourite Christmas dies a year later, I would add it to my collection. I've CASE'd Di's card, with the twist of the colour of the outfit. The trees are die cut with a Poppystamp 'Snow Flocked Tree' die with glamour dust added them, as well as the snow drift, to make them sparkle. I added tiny white dots to the blue background for the snowflakes.

I love both cards Liz. I love footie but hadn't heard about Gasheads. I really enjoyed the little anecdote. That's a lovely die set by the way. Might have to go and have a look. Barbxx

A cute post! I love the outfit in either white or RED! It's just a fun look to Santa's duds! Both cards are darling. I got lots of enabling on my Playground visits too, and if I don't succumb, then I have to clean off the drool from wanting the prizes!!! Just saw your comment at Barb's about the brusho-s. Just get 'em out, wet some paper, and sprinkle away. You will discover they are such fun..let the piece dry, and it's aways pretty no matter what colors you use. Everything else you attempt turns out well, so your brusho-s will too! I'm looking forward to seeing what you do. Hugs & TFS.
ReplyDeleteAround here it would be red for NC State Fans and blue for UNC Chapel Hill. They are rivals and it seems that most are vehemently for one or the other. This is a fun idea for the fans!
