Patterned Poppies

DH was away in York last weekend, so having the house to myself for two whole days, I decided treat myself to two days of crafting.  However, things don't always go according to plan and I ended up on the sofa for two days with a pillow, a blanket, a box of tissues and several packets of Lemsip.....trying to shake off a flu-like bug.

Having finished off a few Fiskarettes DT projects, (photos coming later when they have appeared on the Fiskarettes Facebook page), I've finally had time to make a card for the Less is More Challenge, where the challenge is 'Designer paper in a CAS style'.  As I've used snippets of green and patterned paper, I'll be off to the Playground too.
The flower die is Memory Box 'Row of Poppies'.  I die cut the poppies in green and pink patterned paper from a Dovecraft paper stack, snipping of the pink flower heads and sticking them over the green ones.  The grass is two row of Die-namics  'Fresh Cut Grass- die cuts.

I would like to enter this card for the following challenges:

A second card today.  As DH has had his birthday, I can now post a photo of the card I made for him.
I've used the Spellbinders 'Happy Days' dies again for the base card and the scalloped border.  I can see this becoming one of my favourite dies!  Blue and white and a football theme was the most appropriate for DH. The front of the card is embossed with a Crafts Too football embossing folder.  The patterned paper is by Anna Marie Designs.

I would like to enter my card for the following challenges:

  2. A fabulous, pretty make there with your design paper poppies Liz. Super feminine and ultra CAS as always. Also loving the footie card too - now that it clever (perhaps not CAS but definitely ingenious!)

    1. Had a chuckle at your comment about the embossing folder. Skulls would have been appropriate too as his team is nicknamed The Pirates! xx

  8. Isn't that just typical, 2 days to do as you like and you are laid up. Weird isn't it , gone through all winter and been fine, knocking on the door of May and I was just the same last week.
Two fabulous cards, again that lovely poppy die and love the dotty pink poppy's, fabulous CAS card.
Great card for Hubby, love the shape and the football theme but I do need to go to spec-savers and I thought the dark blue EF had skulls on, I thought his team must have been relegated.

    1. Haha! You're the second person to think the embossing looks like skulls! It does look more like football IRL, although with his team's nickname being The Pirates, skulls would have been fine too. ;-) x

  15. Things rarely go to plan do they? The poppies are lovely in the pink paper. I'm wondering if there is a market for a skull die...

  17. Two fabulous cards Liz. I almost used the Prim Poppies die for my LIM entry (not the same die but really similar as you know) - you made a perfect LIM card. And I bet your DH loved his steps card too! Poor you though, pole axed by the lurgy like that. Mrs A has just gotten over the flu - and it now seems the Doc has succumbed so it must be like a hospital in their house! Hope you're feeling loads better now.

It's lovely to see you in the Playground!

    Hugs

    Di xx
