Recycling and Ruby

The Butterfly Challenge this fortnight is 'Butterflies + R is for Recycle and/or Ruby Red'.  So, I decided to use both Recyling and Ruby Red.

Searching for something to recycle,  I remembered some vertical blinds samples I had - I knew they would come in handy one day! I found two matching samples in a very pale beige and used them for the background.  I love the effect of the texture of the material.   I added a strip of card across the middle to hide the join.  The image is SB 'Flutter Tree', which cuts out perfectly with a metal shim.   I used  a Sue Wilson 'Noble Double Pinpoint Rectangle' die to die cut the rectangle and also used the side of largest die to cut a matching strip for the middle.

I would like to enter my card for the following challenges:

    1. I know, I was only thinking when I made this card, which needed 'Ruby Red', that I've made lots of cards using red recently. I'll have to get out my blues, greens or purples next. ;-) xx

  13. Hi Liz,
what a super recycle idea, and it looks so fantastic.
It goes so well with your Ruby Red Tree, and the kraft card.
It show us as crafters should never throw anything away that's why my craft room looks like it's been burgled. LOL.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
