42 Years!

My DH and I are celebrating our 42nd Wedding Anniversary today.   Here is the card I made for him.  I had intended giving him the card I made HERE for the Less is More One Layer challenge I made recently, but I'm not sure he understands CAS.  I think he thinks of CAS as being 'unfinished'!  So, I made this card for him instead.
The heart is an Impression Obsession 'Heart of Hearts' die cut, matted and layered on MB Stitched circle die cuts.  I used Sue Wilson Double Pierced Squares for the borders.   The embossing folder I used is an x-Cut one, 'Small Polka Hearts'.

I am joining in the following challenges:

Here are a couple of photos from 42 years ago, in the days when wedding dresses always went right up to the neck and the sleeves went down to the wrist!

  1. I'm sure your hubby loved this card Liz. After all those years married it says it all. Congratulations to you both on your special day.

Your wedding photos are beautiful. What a handsome couple! You look absolutely gorgeous in that beautiful dress and the bridesmaids look very pretty too. Thank you for sharing. Barbxx

  3. Happy anniversary! You're 3 years ahead of us - it's our anniversary on Saturday but I've not decided on what card to make yet. Yours is stunning but it wouldn't suit my OH as he doesn't like anything "soppy"

  5. Happy Anniversary dear Liz! Hope you and your hubby are having a lovely day. Beautiful card - that die is still on my wish list, and you used it perfectly.

Love your wedding photos - and they took me right back a few years. My wedding dress was exactly as you say, up to the neck and long sleeves. With a swept out back to form a train plus a long and short double veil - so you did bring back a few memories!

Many thanks for your lovely Birthday card! I need to sit down and email everyone but as am here wanted to say a massive thank you - it made me smile :)

    Love

    Di xx

  8. Happy Anniversary Liz and love the wedding photos and the pretty bridesmaids in that pretty colour. I remember that style well. Perhaps I'm old fashioned but I do prefer to see less bare flesh than they tend to show these days and you look beautiful in it. I love your multi heart and the pierced edge layers and the cute little embossed hearts too. A gorgeous card! x

  21. Happy, happy anniversary. Doesn't the time seem to fly by? I love all the anniversary cards you have been making. I am so far behind in commenting as I have been making cards and I can't seem to do both. I want to visit all your new friends and think it won't happen until cold weather sets in. But I did scroll back and you have been making some lovely cards. Hope you and hubby had a wonderful day.
