I was delighted to be invited to be a Guest Designer for the Rudolph Days April Challenge. The challenge runs from the 25th until the end of each month.
I bought this Creative Expression 'Illuminated Angel Striplet' die at a craft fair last year, when I saw it for half price. The black die cut was attached onto pearlised white card and layered on yellow card. I inlaid the blue and yellow sections. Although this took a little while, there was no way I would have had the patience to inlay all the white parts! I used a Couture Creations Embossing Folder 'Jo Jo' for the panel on the right and added Nuvo Crystal Drops in Gloss White to the centre of each star. I can't recommend these Crystal Drops highly enough. They're so easy to use, forming a perfect dome in the require size, and no chance of falling off in the post. Just remember to leave them to dry overnight. Saves on buying pearls too.
You have 6 days this month to enter the Rudolph Days challenge and be in with a chance to win a lovely prize.

Very classy card - it certainly takes patience (and time) to inlay die cut pieces but so effective.

ReplyDeleteYour card is gorgeous! Loving that die and now cannot wait to give mine a try.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip about the Crystal drops. They look wonderful beside your angel and sound as if they will be much sturdier than using bling. I really like the look of them.
Thanks for being my guest designer this month!!!

Fabulous card with God tips, such as in laying the least detailed bits, and the crystal drops which look lovely xxx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, Liz! Well worth the time of inlaying all those little pieces ... your angel is gorgeous! xx
ReplyDeleteWonderful card, so striking in those colours. I have a love hate relationship with nuvo drops, some of mine don't level and dry with a spike on top. Cara x

ReplyDeleteThis is such an elegant card, and I love doing inlaid dies like this one :) It takes me to a far away place where my mind goes completely blank and I love it! I just bought my first bottles of Nuvo drops, and I can attest to what you said! I love that they embellish beautifully without having to add extra postage, but the best part is that the bottle NEVER clogs! YAY!
