Joy Fold Card

I haven't made a Joy Fold card for ages, so I thought I'd make one today.
To make the card base, I cut an A4  piece of white linen card along the length, 5" wide and scored at 7".  This gave me a finished card when folded of 5" x  7".  I embossed a purple piece of card with a Creative Expressions 'Art Deco Rose Swirl' embossing folder.  The stamped image is an old wood mounted Francoise Read stamp, 'Glasgow Rose Garden'. I stamped the image with Memento 'Tuxedo Black', before colouring with Promarkers.  I die cut the image with a Memory Box 'Stitched Square' die. A brad keeps the card closed.  To finish off my card, I added a few clear gems to the image where there were dots in the design.

This photo shows the card open, revealing the tiny punched butterfly for added interest and the space to write a message.

I am joining in the following challenges:

  6. I'd completely forgotten about this way of constructing a card - interesting and something a bit different. Love the colours and of course it has worked really well for the butterfly challenge.

    1. I have trouble finding purple card too. This came from The Paper Warehouse in Kendal (UK) It looks a different colour on their website, but we had a short break up there last year and I was able to visit their shop and see the card IRL. x

  17. Hi Liz

I love this fold of card too and you have used a fabulous image.

I saw alongside one of the comments above that you struggle to get purple card you are happy with.

It might be worth you having a look at PDA Card and Craft (www.pdacardandcraft.co.uk). They have a fabulous range of card and you can buy small swatches of the various types they sell, so you know you are ordering exactly what you want.

    Hope this helps.

    Love Jules xx
