Filigree Swallow

A quick card today using a die and embossing folder I was given by a crafty friend.

The die and embossing folder are both by xCut, 'Filigree Swallow' and 'Swallow Pattern'.  I used a Lawn Fawn 'Stitched Hillside Border' die to cut the blue border at the bottom. I finished off the card by adding a tiny, black pearl for the swallow's eye.

  1. It's a gorgeous card Liz with lots of yummy texture. Funnily enough I purchased a similar set of X Cut bird dies recently and I love them and you've given me another idea to use them so thank you for that.
As for recommending gesso - yes! I've tried to alter those papermache items and wooden items in the past and this was the first time it worked out well. I'm really happy about that as I have been hoarding some boxes but as I say they've never worked out well and invariably ended up the bin. Gesso and ink blending foam or foam for colouring with the gesso and paint - much smoother results that look great Karen xx
