My craft room blitz is still ongoing! This time, rather than just shuffle things around to make things look reasonable tidy, I'm doing the job properly and decluttering the things I know I won't use again. I'm going through every box, drawer, shelf and cupboard, which is taking forever! On the plus side, I'm finding things I had forgotten about and know I'll use again. I wasn't going to make any more cards until I'd finished sorting my craft room, but the current Less is More Challenge ends today and the Rudolph Days Challenge only has a few more days to go. I decided to make a quick CAS Christmas card....in fact it took less than five minutes to make, so I think I will be batch making these some time.
The Less is More challenge is 'Bring Something Back'. I immediately thought of all the peeloffs I still have. Although they seem to have gone out of fashion, they still can look quick effective. I die cut a white frame and attached it to the square 6x6 card blank. I added three green and gold holographic tree peeloffs in the square apertures and a gold sentiment in the rectangular aperture. The trees are a bright green IRL, but with another dismal day here, it was difficult to get a good photograph. I'm really pleased how this card turned out and being the quickest card I've ever made was an added bonus.

I have this feeling that peel offs will be back, maybe more updated designs, but they say what goes around comes around, and these trees are definitely not dated especially as you have die cut a super frame for them Liz. I hope your declutter will continue to go well. It usually gets worse before it gets better, but is very satisfying when it's finished..lol. x

This sure packs a punch for a 5 minute card. I LOVE IT!!!! The tiny trees are so cute and they fit perfect for that die. Wonderful card!

ReplyDeleteA great card, Liz. I sold most of my peel-offs but did keep just a handful of some I really liked so must use some again soon. This is a great CAS design and an ideal way of putting them to use. We all love quick, especially for Christmas, eh! Good luck with the continued decluttering!

I'm making some order too, and it takes me ages, but it's a bit curious that so much inspirations come to me while I put aside pieces... :) A lot of temptations to stop my organizing and make instead some cards... :D

Oh Liz...I've been doing exactly what you have started doing in your craft room for several weeks now...and with the same intentions! It must be catching!! I like your card with the use of the forgotten peel offs...I too have a box full but they really don't take a lot of space do they??..and well...after looking through hem I put them back :)

I'm proud of you for doing a thorough spring cleaning. I did it a coupla years ago so I know how great you will feel when it's over. ReplyDeleteI have been sorting on my craft room as well. It is easy to put things off and I have done that for far too long. I even have a large dresser in there that hold my envelopes and much more. I have been planning to paint it white to match my other pieces but have put it off for over two years. This summer it will be painted!
