Snowdrops

After a wonderful trip to Rome last week, I'm back with a card I made recently.  A few photos of our trip are at the end of this post.

I don't usually put flowers on masculine cards for some reason, but my friend's hubby's hobby is growing snowdrops and he has over sixty different varieties!
I found this image from Craftuprint.  It comes with extra images to enable it to be decoupaged, but I decided it seem more suitable as a single layer for a man's card.  I added a computer generated sentiment in green and layered the image on a dark green mat.  Using the same green card, I die cut a Joy Crafts 'Autumn Leaves', as the shape of the leaves matched the leaves in the image.  I snipped off a couple of leaves to make it more balanced for the space I had, before attaching the side of the card.

I am joining in the following challenges:

A few of the photos I took when we were in Rome:

  3. Such a beautiful masculine card, Liz! Even with the flowers on it, the card still looks like fabulous masculine with the monochromatic green colors, straight lines and gingham patterns. Thank you for joining us at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

  4. A beautiful card Liz, and I have to say that I too have a great affection for Snowdrops. I think it’s maybe because they are one of the first signs we see to tell us that Spring is on its way after a long Winter. I really like the Ivy too, it’s a perfect embellishment. Great photos and Rome looks amazing x

  8. That personalized card is bound to be appreciated since it depicts his hobby. I think that checked paper is perfect for a male card and the leaves are a great touch. Thanks for sharing your pictures. I know the Colosseum is big but seeing it from that view is awesome.

  11. A really gorgeous card, more special than ever because it is so personal. And your photos of Rome are amazing - I'm awe struck by the size of the Coliseum given that it was built long before we had modern technology and machinery.

  13. I love these delicate snowdrops Liz and the background with the prettty green and white background with the oval shaped image which I am assuming comes as one piece, looks great with the sentiment you have computer generated, and the additional die cut leaves down the side finish it beautifully. What great photos of Rome, and it looks as if you managed to visit all the key sights whilst you were there, obviously a wonderful place to visit. x
