Happy Birthday

Happiness is........finding a die, which was part of a set, which I lost 9 or 10 months ago!  I couldn't use the set of dies without the one I lost without trying to cut the piece by hand.  After searching for ages, I assumed I had accidentally thrown it away. 😞 However, when I was going through a box of card yesterday, looking for a particular colour, there was the die between two pieces of card!! 😃

A card I made for my daughter who is celebrating her birthday today.
I started by covering a 6 x 6 card blank with purple and white spotty paper.  The frame, balloons and candle are from Sue Wilson's 'Celebrations' die set using purple pearlised card and silver non-shed glitter card.  I inlaid the white card in the apertures of the frame.  The flower was made with punches and the sentiment is computer generated, printed in grey.

I am joining in the following challenges.

  10. A really pretty card for your daughter Liz, I love the purple and silver and that SW die is great and love all the images you have used in the different spaces. So pleased you found the missing die as it is really frustrating when something goes missing and you keep thinking of places it could be and spend ages looking before giving up, and when you finally conclude it is gone for good it turns up in the most unlikely place...lol. x

    The colours are gorgeous.
So glad you found that die so your could make this fab card.
    Love the spotty paper too.
I think we all may have done something similar in loosing a die and then found it hiding under something else.

  18. It is really upsetting when you lose dies, particularly if they are vital to the set so it is really good that yours turned up eventually. A very pretty card which I'm sure your daughter will love.

  19. WOW! This is delightful Liz ..... and using a shade of my fave colour doesn't hurt it all all!

As to the errant die - Pheww, we've all lost bits and pieces and assumed them lost forever .. I did the same with a magnetic sentiment only to have it surface attached to something metal I hadn't used in a while! Glad you found it though.

Still a tad sticky here though ..... Happy Friday

  20. I had the same problem with a stamp that was one of three that went together. I lost it over a year ago and as it was an older set it had been discontinued so I could not replace it. While crafting with a friend last week, she picked up a box and tilted it and there in the bottom of the box under everything else was the stamp (the box was clear so I could see straight through). I love this gorgeous card that you've made your daughter, I'm sure that she loves it.
