Twist and Pop Card

Making a Twist and Pop card was on my list of techniques to try in 2018 and this is the second one I've made.  This one is for my granddaughter, who turned nine just before Christmas.
All the images are Lavina stamps, stamped with Versafine 'Onyx Black'.  I've added some clear Wink of Stella to the flowers on the stamped image to add a little sparkle. The patterned papers are all from a LOTV paper pad that came as a freebie with a magazine some time ago.  The flower was made with punches.

The fairies inside the card are alI stamped on Memory Box 'Stitched Square' die cuts.  I arranged the fairies so it looks as if the single fairies are following the fairy on the snail.  The Memory Box 'Sofia Heart' die cut is inlaid on a stitched circle die cut and layered on a Spellbinder 'Scalloped Circle'.

  1. That is a fabulous make Liz, a complex looking piece and beautifully done for your granddaughter. I must admit paper engineering is not my forte but you have obviously got that mathematical brain, and love the fairies silhouettes and the sweet little girl and fairy image on the front too. x

  8. That's beautiful Liz. I've had a go at the technique myself but wasn't happy with my results, I found the card too bulky to close properly. Maybe I should have used a lighter weight card? Yours looks perfect.

    1. From memory, the card I used for the inside was 210gsm. Because of the layers, they are a little bulky, although I got mine to close properly. The first card I made with this fold, I made a box 1cm deep to send it in. I made up a card in copier paper first to see the best place to put the folding mechanism and have kept this as a template for future ones. xx

    1. It was much easier to make than I thought it would be. I found several instructions online and changed them slightly to make a 7" x 5" finished card. xx
