Christmas Peeloffs

The July Rudolph Days Challenge begins today and ends on the last day of the month.

A quick and easy CAS card today, using up a few more of my peeloffs.  The background was embossed with an old Crafter's Companion e/f and layered it on a blue mat.  I attached three silver peeloffs to blue squares and raised them up on foam pads.

Family of Snowmen

A Christmas card to share today.

The image is an old wood mounted stamp, stamped with Memento 'Tuxedo Black' and coloured with Promarkers.  The corners were die cut with a die from the Memory Box 'Distressed Holiday Collage' set.  I added two Memory Box 'Twilight Snowflake' die cut, cut in white, non-shed glitter card to add a little sparkle.

Special Daughter

We came home yesterday after a lovely ten days in our caravan in beautiful North Devon.  It was so lovely to get away near the sea for a break.  There were plenty of places to visit where we knew it would be quiet with very few people about.   It was also an opportunity to meet up with family who we haven't seen since Christmas for a small, socially distancing barbecue.  It was our daughter's birthday on Sunday and we were able to meet up with her to celebrate.  It was only the second time we've been able to see her since lockdown.  This is the card I made for her.

The card base was made with a Spellbinders 'Happy Days' step die.  The patterned paper is from a Dovecraft paper pad and all the flowers are from the Sizzix Thinlets set of dies, 'Floral Wreath'.  The sentiment is computer generated and punched with a SU punch.

Black, White and Red

Edited to add:
After finally finding the instructions for the fold on Google, it would seem that the card fold is called 'Pop Up Cube Card'.  Although these aren't the instructions I followed, here is a link how to make it.
https://dawnsstampingthoughts.net/2020/07/pop-up-cube-card-video.html

I've no idea what this card fold is called, if anyone knows please leave me a comment.  I followed a Kanban Crafts video tutorial on their Facebook page.  Basically the card base is three rectangles cut from two A4 sheets of card, scored and stuck together.

It's a perfect design for using up little snippets and I put a dent in my piles of patterned paper and red card snippets.  The flowers were made with punches and I embossed all the red card with a Couture Creations 'Fireflies' embossing folder.  The sentiment was typed on the computer and punched with a SU punch.

What I like about this card is that it is easier to make than it looks and folds flat for posting.   I love making cards with fancy folds, so I'll be sharing my card over in the Country View Challenge where the theme is 'Do What Makes You Happy'.

Penguin's Presents

A CAS Christmas card to share today.
The  image is an old wood mounted stamp which I've had for 10+ years, stamped with Memento 'Tuxedo Black' and coloured with Promarkers.  I'm pretty sure I've never used this stamp before, so I'll be sharing my card over in the NBUS challenge.  The image was die cut with a MB 'Stitched Rectangle' die, layered on a red mat and attached with foam pads.  The sentiment is from an old Papermania set of stamps and the patterned paper was from my snippets drawer.  I added three tiny red pearls and a clear gem in the sentiment to finish off my card.

Twofer Butterflies

The theme for the Twofer Challenge this month is 'Butterflies', two cards with different designs, for different occasions, using the same stamp, die or stencil.
I used a butterfly stamp from the Stampin' Up 'Positive Thoughts' set on both cards.

I am joining in the Twofer Card Challenge #29 with this pair of cards.

My first card was inspired by a card sketch I saw on a craft forum.  I stamped six butterflies using a Memento 'Rich Cocoa' and coloured them with Promarkers, before die cutting into squares using a Memory Box 'Stitched Square Layers' die.  I layered the butterflies on a mat in the opposite colours.  The sentiment is a stamp from the SU 'Painted Glass' set.

My second card used the same butterfly stamp, stamped with Memento 'Tuxedo Black' and coloured with a Promarker.  I added a few dots with a black fineliner pen to show the flight path.  The sentiment is a stamp from the same SU 'Positive Thoughts' set.  The floral paper is from a paper pad which came as the free gift with a magazine some time ago and the striped paper was part of an old Dovecraft paper pad.

Thank You Wreath

A Thank You card to share today.

The dies are from the Sizzix Thinlets set of dies, 'Floral Wreath' a NBUS set I bought recently in their 70% off sale.  I pretty much CASE'd the design on the packet, but added three hearts instead of two, added a pink mat and a sentiment.  There were small circle dies for the centres of the flowers, but it was quicker and easier to use a circle punch.  The sentiment is a stamp from the Stampin' Up set 'Painted Glass', stamped with Versafine 'Onyx Black'.

What was the question?

I can share this birthday card on my blog now that I know it has been received.   It had to travel a long way to Darnell and as I posted it late, it arrived about a week or so after her birthday.  Oops!  Some days I have to think hard what month it is at the moment!

The image and sentiment are Little Claire stamps, the image coloured with Promarkers and die cut with a Memory Box 'Stitched Scalloped Circle' die and layered on a Memory Box 'Stitched Circle Layer' die cut.  The background text paper is from Anna Marie Designs.  Two punched wine glasses finished off my card.

Butterfly Accordion Card

I can post this Thank You card now I know it's been received.  The current theme for the Butterfly Challenge is 'A for Accordion Fold Card'.  I decided to make an accordion card with all the Butterfly Challenge elements - 'Accordion Style card/ Any Patterned papers x2/Apricot/ Apple Blossom/Aquamarine + your Butterfly'.  I used a Aqua Promarker so I hope that counts as the right colour blue.  The little butterfly is coloured in apricot, so I think I've covered all the elements with my card.  There are tutorials for accordion cards HERE.  This was a 'new to me' fold and the tutorial was so easy to follow.
The digi image is  'Butterfly Globe' from Bugaboo, one I chose with the voucher I won recently over in the Butterfly Challenge.  I added some colour with Promarkers and covered the globe part in Wink of Stella to add some sparkle.   The image was die cut with a Memory Box 'Stitched Square Layers' die.  The two patterned papers are from a paper pad which came with a craft magazine some time ago.  I used punches to make all the flowers.

The card folds flat for posting.

I always enjoy making cards with fancy folds, so I'll be sharing my card in Country View Challenge.

Summer Flowers

Welcome to my new follower, please leave me a comment with a link to your blog so I can visit you too.

This was my second attempt at making this card.  On my first card I added tiny black Nuvo Drops to the centre of the flowers.  I stamped the sentiment, layered it on black and as I went to attach it to the middle of the card, I had a Senior Moment and forgot the Nuvo Drops would still be wet.  My hand smudged the black drops over the the top part of the card and the embossed panel!  😞  Why I didn't add the drops at the very end as I usually do, I've no idea.

So I started again and decided to change one of the flower stamps this time.  The flowers are stamps from the Stampin' Up 'Thoughtful Blooms' set and stamped with a red metallic ink pad, cut out with a punch and raised up on foam pads.  This time I added tiny black pearls to the centre of the flowers, so no chance of smudging them! LOL!  The sentiment is from the SU 'Positive Thoughts'.  The panel is a strip of Anna Marie Design striped black and white patterned paper with a piece of red card, embossed with a Tattered Lace embossing folder layered on top.

Rather than totally waste the first card, I rescued the only bit worth saving, cut it into a long strip and layered it on a black mat and attached to a card blank.  A sentiment finished off my CAS card.

Magical Christmas

Another Christmas card to share today.

The background was created with a Sue Wilson 'Starry Night Sky' die using navy blue card and backed with silver mirror card.  I've inlaid the moon using gold holographic card.  The Cheery Lynn 'Santa's Sleigh and Reindeer' die cut had four reindeer, so I chopped off the two so it would fit on the card.  The sentiment is a Papermania stamp.

Purple Owl

I was asked to make a special card for a friend.  She requested the card to be purple and if possible include an owl, but no sentiment.   She wanted extra pages so several messages and memories could be written inside.  After some thought I decided to attach three 7" x 5" card blanks together to make a booklet.

The frame was made with dies from the Sue Wilson 'Ornate Pierced Rectangles' dies, using pearlised purple card. The owl is a Tattered Lace die cut.  I inlaid all the apertures in the owl, except for the eyes, with white card. The background was embossed with a Crafts Too 'Feathers' e/f. I trimmed the card blanks down to fit the frame, before adding a purple pearl in each corner.

This shows the card open from above.

As I knew it would become a keepsake because of the messages and memories written inside, I made and decorated a box to keep it in.  I die cut a Cottage Cutz owl to add to the front of the box.  The box is kept closed with a band of ribbon from Crafty Ribbons and I attached a punched heart over the join.  The ribbon slides on an off easily.  As the pages of the booklet are plain, I included a bag of the little purple die cut owls and some punched hearts, so the pages can be decorated if required.

The Country View Challenge this month is 'Do what makes you happy', so I'll be joining in the challenge with my card.  It makes me happy when I can personalise cards with particular colours and images for the recipient.

Christmas Card

A CAS Christmas card to share today.

I stamped the Stampendous 'Precious Nativity' image with Memento 'Tuxedo Black' and coloured it with Promarkers.  The sentiment is a stamp from the Stampin' Up 'Perfectly Plaid' set.  The background is embossed with a Spellbinders 'Dainty Dots' embossing folder.  I finished off my card with five silver holographic Card Candi.

Baby Mini Album

A mini album to share today as my DT project for Crafty Calendar Challenge.  Our theme this month is 'Add a Ribbon' and our generous sponsor is Crafty Ribbons.

The finished album measures 3" x 4" and is folded from a piece of 12" x 8" Bazzill cardstock.  The patterned paper is from DCWV 'Nana's Nursery Baby Boy' paper stack.  The letters are die cut using Memory Box 'Uppercase Alphabet Soup' dies and I used organza ribbon to keep the album closed.

I decorated the mini album with punched shapes.....

ribbons.....

and brads.

There are spaces on every page to put a little photo.

Here is a template I've made to show the basic album shape.
Start with a piece of cardstock 12" x 8".  The broken lines are the score lines and the red line is the cut line. Fold in half lengthways along the short scoreline. Fold on the other score lines using valley and mountain folds. I hope that make sense.

The Crafty Calendar Challenge ends on 28th July.  Please visit the challenge blog to see all the wonderful creations the DT have made.  The randomly drawn winner will receive a voucher from Crafty Ribbons.
