Twofer Butterflies

The theme for the Twofer Challenge this month is 'Butterflies', two cards with different designs, for different occasions, using the same stamp, die or stencil.
I used a butterfly stamp from the Stampin' Up 'Positive Thoughts' set on both cards.

I am joining in the Twofer Card Challenge #29 with this pair of cards.

My first card was inspired by a card sketch I saw on a craft forum.  I stamped six butterflies using a Memento 'Rich Cocoa' and coloured them with Promarkers, before die cutting into squares using a Memory Box 'Stitched Square Layers' die.  I layered the butterflies on a mat in the opposite colours.  The sentiment is a stamp from the SU 'Painted Glass' set.

I am joining in the following challenges with this card:

My second card used the same butterfly stamp, stamped with Memento 'Tuxedo Black' and coloured with a Promarker.  I added a few dots with a black fineliner pen to show the flight path.  The sentiment is a stamp from the same SU 'Positive Thoughts' set.  The floral paper is from a paper pad which came as the free gift with a magazine some time ago and the striped paper was part of an old Dovecraft paper pad.

I am joining in the following challenges with this card:

  6. Two beautiful butterfly cards Liz and love the tile layout of the first, and more of that super gothic type script on the sentiment, and then the sweet floral and striped papers complement the sweet butterfly on the second with a positive message to go with it too. x

  17. Your twofer's are gorgeous Liz! I love the way you have stacked those butterflies on your pink and green bases and then stacked on the card. Looks so pretty! Your second card is so sweet, loving that freebie paper you used and then what I thought was washi or ribbon, only to find out it was a strip of paper looks amazing as it looks like ribbon! Love the flight trail of the butterfly, so elegant looking is this card. Hugs, Brenda

  25. Lovely, Liz ... both of them! The contrast of the graphic tile pattern with the delicacy of the butterflies on your thank you card is delicious ... and how pretty is that solo flutterer above the pink flowery meadow ... dreamy and such a sweet way to send positive thoughts! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Twofer! Anita :)
