Bel's Challenge

I'm still trying to catch up with adding cards made recently to my blog, as well as catching up with blog visiting.  I'm not sure where August went and here we all are, well into September.

A little while ago a Stampin' Up demonstrator friend set a challenge for  a few of us to do during the semi-lockdown.  She sent us all an identical little package and asked us to see what we could do with it.  Here is what I received.  We could used our own stamps, punches, dies and add little embellishments.

A rainy day in our caravan was the perfect day to do the challenge.

I think the offcut of kraft card was in the envelope to stop the other bits getting creased, as nobody else used it. I didn't want to waste it, so I decided to use it.  I used part of the kraft card as a mat on the card.  I only had enough left for four squares for the box, so I die cut a fifth square out of the kraft mat and filled the aperture with a square of scrap card.  As I was covering the mat with patterned paper, it wouldn't show.  A scrap of kraft card was used for the sentiment mat.   I used the white piece of card to die cut the stitched circles and for stamping the flowers, which I then punched out.  The sentiment banner is a scrap of the leftover white card.  The circle on the card and all the flowers are attached with foam pads.  The large leaf was snipped apart so I could put a tiny leaf behind each of the flowers round the side of the box and the rest on the top of the box.  I finished off my card with three clear gems, which are more sparkly in real life.

I am joining in the following challenges:

As we have spent a lot the last six weeks in our caravan in Devon so we are close by to daughter after her op, I missed a couple of online Stampin' Up classes I'd booked in for last month.  Although I couldn't join in the classes, I had the kits and instructions and eventually found time to make the cards this week.  I changed a few of the designs slightly, two of them because I didn't follow the instructions properly! 😉

These cards used the SU 'Lovely You' set of stamps.....

.....and these using the 'Whale of a Time' products.  The four little cards fit into the plastic box with the belly band round it. (I've left one of the cards in the box.)

  5. You made good use of the bits supplied, even down to using the piece pf kraft card - guess that's a true crafter (never waste anything). Good that you managed to catch up with using the other kits even if you were unable to join in.

  15. Wow--so many great cards, Liz! You made perfect use of everything in the kit--including the protective kraft paper--love it! Thanks for the well wishes with the fires here. Very scary, but some improvement & not worried that we'll be in danger from flames. So sad seeing places we know so well destroyed. Thank goodness for the distration of cardmaking!

  18. I love what you did with your supplies that were mailed to you! Your card and cube turned out so nice! Love too, that you used the kraft piece of card, it looks great as a mat under your green dsp and on the cube. Well done! Wow, love the other cards you made as well! The flower cards are so pretty and summery looking. The ocean cards are simply amazing and I'm in love with each one of them! That is quite a stash of cards you made there Liz! Yes, I don't know where August went either, my mind is still stuck in August, not Sept. Sigh, even embarrassed myself by trying to use coupons that ended in August! Glad you and hubby are close by your daughter. Nice to have a caravan to stay in too! Hugs, Brenda
