Is anyone else having trouble with the new Blogger format? This is the third time I've written this post. For some reason all the contents of the post disappear before I press 'Publish'. So frustrating!
It's now three weeks since my daughter's emergency operation. I feel like I have aged 20 years in the last three weeks! After a little blip when she was readmitted to hospital for a few days to sort out a couple of problems, she is now back on track with her recovery. This is the card I made for her a few days ago. As she's recovering from open heart surgery, I wanted to incorporate a heart into the design.
I used an MFT 'Cross-stitch Tag Die' with thick white card and I chopped off the top of the tag to make a rectangle. I found a free cross-stitch design on the internet and used crochet cotton for the stitching. The pink background was embossed with a heart and daisy lattice embossing folder - I think it is an Embossalicious one. I added tiny, white pearls to the centres of some of the flowers. The sentiment is from the Stampin' Up 'Positive Thoughts' set of stamps and stamped in silver. The layered sentiment is attached with foam pads.

Last week we were in our caravan to be near our daughter. We brought her to the caravan for a few hours, together with our ten year old great nephew and eleven year old great niece. Our daughter is recuperating with our great nephew and his family where she is getting lots of TLC. While our daughter was having a nap in the fresh air the children asked to make a card each for an upcoming birthday. With the limited supplies I had in the caravan, this is what they made. I promised them that I would put photos of their amazing cards on my blog.

I have reverted back to old blogger, it all worked fine initially but now it's all over the place, even in old blogger at times the size of the words are all not correct. xx

Oh Liz, I'm sure you have felt like you have aged after all the issues your daughter has went through! I am so happy to read that she is finally on the road to recovery. We are not promised tomorrow I have learned too so you Pooh picture and sentiment at the end is spot on! Your card for your daughter is just beautiful! I love the cross stitched heart on it, fitting for sure. That embossing folder is so beautiful! My goodness, I see talent runs in the family!!! I love the hand drawn hammer and saw-Gilby's card for his uncle turned out amazing. I can't believe Emmie's pop up card for her dad, that is so fun and very detailed. Both of these kiddo's have great talent. Please let them know how talented they are and thank you to you Liz for letting them make these cards. I have dealt with this type of emergency with my hubby, so I know that recovery will be slow. There will be good and bad days, but in time, the good days are more frequent. It's so wonderful that you were able to take your caravan and be with her for a while. And how wonderful that her nephew and family are taking good care of her. Sending prayers to her and you.
