Double Point Fold Card

The Butterfly Challenge this time is 'D for Double Point Fold'.  I haven't seen this fold before, but there are several tutorials over on the Butterfly Challenge blog HERE.   I think I've covered all the 'D' elements in the challenge - Double Point Fold Card/ Diamonds/ Delft Blue/ Damson/ Dandelion + your Butterfly.  I used diamante gems for the diamonds.  (It's such a dull and gloomy day today, it's hard to get a good photo showing the true colours.)

I used two dandelion yellow and white patterned papers from a Dovecraft paper pad, layered on a delft blue mat.  The middle panel was die cut with Stampin' Up 'Stitched Nested Labels' dies and attached just to the top pointed fold.  I didn't have any damson coloured card, so I die cut the butterfly in white and coloured it with a damson coloured Promarker.  Two diamante gems finished off my card.

The card front opens up like this to reveal the stamped sentiment and little butterflies.

The blue mat was attached to a side opening card blank.

I am joining in the following challenges:

  1. You've made a great job of this latest fold idea for the butterfly challenge and well done for using all the elements as well. I've been meaning to have a go at this one but keep forgetting - must get my act together!

  7. I've only made one of these types of cards Liz, it was fun though. I love your double point card! I will have to admit that I had to Google "damson" as I didn't know what it was or what color it was. lol But now I know! The yellow, blue and damson colors are so pretty together. I love that yellow paper you used and I love the shaped die you used as well. Your butterfly is so pretty too, so frilly looking. Hugs, Brenda
