Gatefold Card

My crafty friend is celebrating her 60th birthday today and this is the card I made for her.  Her favourite colour is purple and I decided to use a gatefold card design I learnt ten days ago ago during an online weekend Stampin' Up Christmas Craft Retreat. (Photos of the cards I made at the retreat are at the end of this post.)  I really liked the detail of the folded circles on the front.

The original card was 6" x 4", so I changed the measurement of everything to make a 7" x 5" card.  The patterned paper is from a Papermania paper pad.  The Memory Box decorative circle die cut was cut in half and attached to two folded Memory Box 'Stitched Circle' die cuts.  The card was kept closed with ribbon and three purple pearls finished off the outside of the card.

The pattened paper inside is the same as on the narrow panel on the outside.

I am joining in the following challenges:

Here are the cards I made during the Christmas Crafty Retreat.  Although it would have been lovely all being together for the retreat, joining in online and seeing everyone on the computer was the next best thing.  The two large cards are the front are both Never-Ending cards.

The card design I took my inspiration from is in the front row,  second card from the right.

  1. This is so pretty in purple Liz and I'm sure Ruth will love it, and brilliant with the gatefold style and circular double layer die cut on the front and love the more floral purple paper on the inside and finished with a lovely ribbon and coordinating pearls. What a lot of Christmas cards you managed to make during the on line retreat and great to be able to craft with others even if only through zoom. x

  13. Oh Liz, I love this cool gatefold card, love that it can be held shut with the ribbon. Never seen a gatefold done this way before and I think it is a brilliant design! Love the papers you used and that circular die you used. Kinda like a doily. Wow, your internet retreat produced a lot of wonderful cards! I'm sure it was fun seeing everyone even if it was on the computer. We are so blessed to have the internet to keep us in touch with each other! Hugs, Brenda
