Poinsettia

I have another Christmas card to share today.

I started by folding back 2" of the card front and stuck it down with double-sided tape.  I cut two strips of patterned paper from a paper pad I bought in The Works.  I attached one piece to the folded part on the front and the other on the edge of the inside.  The poinsettia is a Spellbinders die and I added tiny yellow pearls to the centre.  I layered the poinsettia on Memory Box 'Stitched Circle Layers' die cuts and raised up the red circle on foam pads.

This photo shows the card open.

I am joining in the following challenges:

  1. This is lovely Liz. What a clever idea to fold back part of the front of the card so that it gives a frame for the lovely paper that you used. I really like the red and white combination.

  6. So pretty Liz and what a great idea to fold back the front and with the two strips of that super red dp looks like a normal card front until opened and the poinsettia in a matching colour looks beautiful on the stitched circles. A wonderful card! x

  7. This is lovely Liz! The red and white colour scheme is very festive and I just love the paper you chose... the pattern makes me think of a gorgeous patchwork quilt. Love the poinsettia die cut and the lovely stitched circle dies you used.

  10. Love this design, Liz! Am thinking of casing it, if you don't mind! Why do you fold back the front 2" and not just cut it? I appear to be missing something?

    1. You could just cut a piece off the front, but I like the effect of a frame around the front panel which is created when it's folded back. xx xx
