Crafting with Friends

In my last post, I said I'd share some of the cards I made when I was crafting with friends last Saturday.  Everyone did their own thing, most people were scrapbooking or working on their art journals.  I took along my Lavinia stamps and stencils to make some sympathy cards, as I like to have a few ready made for the sad occasions when they are needed.  I used Woodware sentiment stamps.  The flowers were watercoloured using the same Distress ink pad mixed with a splash of water.

I am joining in the following challenges with this card:

Last Wednesday I met with a few different friends to have a go at Button Art.  None of us had done it before and this is my effort.  I saw a couple of examples online of a basic house shape so decided on this for my design.  I thought of an appropriate sentiment and printed it out before I started.  The red heart is a punched shape.  Little pearls and gems were added in the spaces between the buttons.  I layered the completed picture on a navy mat, before framing.

  1. You have created some beautiful cards with your gorgeous Lavinia stamps- always a good idea to have some sympathy cards ready, they are difficult to make at the best of times.
    Love the button art!

  2. I love your sympathy cards and such pretty backgrounds and images which suit the occasion so well Liz, and the button art house looks great in shades of blue, and the pearls and gems to fill the gaps, and also the sweet little red heart filling in the sentiment are wonderful finishing touches. You obviously had a very busy and fun crafting week and have a lot of beautiful things to show for it. x

  7. Wow, what lovely cards Liz. I especially like the sympathy cards that you've made and it's their simplicity that makes them so beautiful. They are difficult cards to make but I'm the same as you and like to have a few ready for when I need them. I find it almost impossible to put one together at they time they are actually needed, so having a few made up is the way to go x
