Trifold Aperture Card

There still seems to be some glitches with Blogger. Some new posts from blogs I follow aren't appearing in my Reading List, so I'm missing the posts.  I'm also finding some genuine comments still going into my spam folder on my blog and I have to remember to keep checking this folder when I moderate the comments left on my blog.  I know I'm not the only one with these little glitches, so I hope Blogger sort them out soon.

My version of a fancy fold card I saw demonstrated on Lisa Shaw's Nifty Noodles Crafting Facebook page.

The front of the card is embossed with a Creative Expressions embossing folder.  To make the aperture, I die cut a plain circle in the front of the card and made a frame using a Memory Box 'Stitched Scallop Circle' die and the same die I used for the aperture.  I used a Martha Stewart  border punch to decorate the angled edges.  The patterned paper is from a very old Papermania paper pad.   I didn't intend to put the pearls on a separate panel, but after spilling a blob of wet glue on the background paper and making a mess of trying to remove it, I covered it up with a layered panel of patterned paper,

The Spellbinders butterfly die cut is layered on a Memory Box 'Stitched Scalloped Circle' die.  The card is kept closed with small velcro dots. xx

I am joining in the following challenges with this card:

A second card I made recently,  a CAS card this time for someone who likes hummingbirds.
The patterned paper is from The Works.  I added a matching strip of card across the middle and added a sentiment and three matt silver Card Candi.

Finally I card I made a while ago, but never posted on my blog.  A Flip-It card, stamped with SU flower, foliage and sentiment stamps.....
..... and a little doodling.

  1. Three great cards in a variety of styles. The Blogger problems are irritating so, like you, I hope they are resolved sooner rather than later.

    1. I often find that some of the text is published in a different size and I have to edit it again to get it all a uniform size. So frustrating! xx

  3. What terrific cards Liz, two really unusual folds here. Since my issues with blogger asking for verification to comment, it seems to be behaving itself on that front. I am still having to check my spam for some comments, but others go straight to comments without moderation!! They are doing a sterling job if their intent is to put people off blogging!!

  9. A trio of wonderful, beautiful cards and I especially like the first one with that unique fold! Nice work on all of them. I too am still having comment issues with blogger. Sometimes the comments don't land as spam until a few days after they're left?! Every day I have to scroll through the list of moderated comments only to find a few strays that were never published. It's frustrating because there's really no reason for it other than to aggravate everyone I'm sure.

  12. There certainly are some glitches with Blogger Liz, I also get omissions from my reading list, been like that for weeks. In addition commenting, I've done little for five weeks, holiday followed by an MS relapse, when I eventually got to my desk to do some it's restricting how many blogs I can comment on and a message in red I have exceeded my daily allocation. Needless to say no word from Blogger to that enquiry.

But a lovely display of cards and so please you shared, thank you.

  14. Hello Liz, gorgeous cards, as always, and I'm always in awe of your folding skills! Every time I see your folded cards I think I really must try something different than my plain one fold card! I'm also having slight problems with blogger in respect of comments going into spam and blogs not appearing in my reading list. I'm even further behind with commenting now than I usually am! Not helpful!

Also wanted to say thanks for all the kind comments you leave on my blog - I do read them all, once I see them!! I think we'll be looking at our children, no matter their ages (or ours!!), and wondering where time went!!

  24. Sorry to be missing lately but have been away on holiday so am way behind. I love these three really pretty cards Liz and two very clever folds with some super papers and added dry embossing and punched details and butterfly on the first, and a wonderful flip card with the bright and beautiful flowers and leaves and I love the colour of the tone on tone paper with the hummingbirds finished perfectly with the card candi and sentiment. x
