Di is celebrating her 11th Blogoversary of running Snippet Playground Challenge this week. Thanks to Di for the last 11 years and to Sarn who has teamed up with Di to continue running the challenge.
So here is my snippets card, together with the required photo of the snippets used. Most 'Thank You' cards I make are more suitable for a female, so I decided to make a card which would also be suitable for a man. I rarely use black card blanks, but it seemed to work quite well with the bright colours.
I bought a preloved Memory Box 'Cascadia Background Strip' die a while ago and this is its first outing. Actually, I'm not sure it was preloved, as I don't think it was ever used by the previous owner. 😉 I used the die in the front of the black card blank and put a piece of a double sided adhesive sheet behind the apertures. Next step was to use the same die again using snippets of red, blue, yellow and green and inlay all the coloured little pieces into the apertures. I used big enough snippets so that I can use the leftover pieces with the aperture in future projects. The IO 'Thanks' sentiment was die cut from a white snippet. The stars were punched and I added strips of blue and white across the top as it looked a bit bare.
Here are all the snippets I used. The only other thing I used was the black card blank.
I am joining in the following challenges:
Thank you to Mia for her generous Birthday Giveaway. What a lovely surprise it was to receive all these lovely gifts through the post recently.
This is stunning Liz. The black background certainly makes the colors stand out.
ReplyDeleteYou received some of Mia's herbs as well, she is so generous isn't she, especially given the cost of postage these days.
ReplyDeleteYour card is so bright and cheery and agree it would suite a mane or woman.

ReplyDeleteThat's a very striking card Liz. Loving the colourful die cuts against the black card.
ReplyDeleteThanks for submitting your homework to the Snippets Playground. You’ll find Di and I up in the Treehouse with a few others if you fancy a hot beverage and toasted crumpets in the Sunday Morning Breakfast Club! x
A fabulous card Liz - the black cardstock is perfect with the vibrant colours you've used. Congratulations too on your lovely giveaway from Mia.

This is a great masculine card Liz, and the black card shows off the bright colours brilliantly. What a lovely bundle of goodies from Mia too. x
ReplyDeleteMy comments echo the others, the snippets paper just pops against the black cardstock. This is such a sweet thank you card and so happy.
ReplyDeleteWhat a striking card Liz and such lovely colours too xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous card Liz! So colourful and actually perfect for a chap! Bad me went on the hunt as soon as I spotted it - I'm often stumped for male cards and this die has loads of possibilities. So much for 2023 being 'buy less craft goodies'! Mind you - I think you totally stole the show with this lovely design! Lovely haul there from Mia too - very generous of her.

Using the black card base was brilliant to make the primary colors of the die really POP, Liz! This is a fun and happy card that could be used for many different sediments and any age or gender so those snippets will all be used in time! That's what I call smart! Thank you for inspiring everyone at NBUS! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteSo striking card and perfect for both male or female. The colours really pop from black! Very well done thinking ahead to use the leftover pieces with the aperture in future projects! Seeing them I thought the same :D

ReplyDeleteOH! My, so many pieces to add in the right place, but you certainly achieved it and what a fabulous result on this lovely card Liz.
ReplyDeleteClever tip to die cut the front panel and use the double sided tape underneath! I was wondering how you lined them up so perfectly! I absolutely love these bright colours against the black and the addition of small details like the strip at the top and the coloured stars makeit even more special! Hugs, Kate
ReplyDeleteLiz, I love this card! The contrast between the bright colors and black background are stunning. We would love for you to share it on our challenge, Colorful Options. Black is the color for the month, and your card would be a welcome addition. Cheers, Makira
