With Sympathy

Our friends lovely dog sadly passed away at the weekend and this is the card I made for them.  I decided not to add a sentiment on the front of the card, but write a message of sympathy inside.

The background was embossed with a Creative Expressions 'Pawprint Lattice' embossing folder. The heart is a die from the Spellbinders 'Pawing Around (Dog)' set with plain cream card behind.  I didn't have a slightly larger heart die, so I cut the green heart by hand.  The ribbon in layered on a green strip of card.

I am joining in the following challenges:

  5. I must check out that set as most of my family, friends and neighbors have dogs. They are part of the family, so a sympathy card is perfect. This is so touching with the paw prints in the heart. I love the strip at the bottom too.

  11. This is a really lovely card for a sad occasion Liz and the heart die is just perfect. You made a wonderful job of cutting the matted green heart too, as I thought it was a die cut as you cut it so brilliantly. The ribbon goes beautifully too. x

  15. Awww, I hate hearing of someone losing a furbaby. Your sympathy card is just beautiful Liz. I love that embossing folder and heart with the paw print in it. You did a great job cutting the heart shadow by hand! It looks perfect, no wonky cut lines. Love that ribbon too, it is perfect for this card. Hugs, Brenda
