Lorraine has chosen the theme for this week's Allsorts Challenge which is 'Add Some Texture'. There are a lot of ways you can add texture, but you can always go with the Anything Goes option.
Two cards to share today. The first was for friends who recently celebrated 50 years of wedded bliss.
I used a Marianne cross-stitch die in a die cut Memory Box 'Stitched Circle Layers' die cut. I used crochet cotton for the cross-stitching and then layered it on a Memory Box 'Stitched Scalloped Circles' die cut. The background was embossed with a Creative Expression 'Heart Lattice' embossing folder. I added two heart pearls for added texture.
My second card is a birthday card.
The patterned paper is from a paper pad from The Works and I added a strip of matching hession. The Poppystamps 'Marina Sailboats' die cut was layered on Memory Box stitched circle and scalloped die cuts and raised up on foam pads. I added three tiny turquoise pearls. The sentiment is a Stampin' Up stamp.

ReplyDeleteI love your first card Liz with the pretty cross stitched heart which is perfect for your friends' Golden Wedding and the embossed heart lattice makes the perfect background. The second is a great sea themed card with the beautiful yacht and the wonderful patterned paper and complementary coloured hessian finish this brilliantly. x
ReplyDeleteTwo lovely cards, but of course, I love the first one best because of the cross stitching. I am trying to get some designs finished for tree decorations for my grandchildren but they are taking ages because, even though they are small, there seem to be 6 million different colours and each colour only has a few stitches. Wish I had chosen a different design! Anyway, that'a a lovely idea for an anniversary card - so special xx
