Monochrome Joy Fold Card

We came home last night from a lovely few days away, which included two visits to Lavinia Stamps. I'll post some photos at the end of this post.  I spent all day on Sunday watching wonderful demos by very talented crafters and came home with a bag of new Lavinia Stamps goodies.

The theme of the current Butterfly Challenge is 'Going Monochromatic'.  A little change to the elements for this challenge, a Joy Fold Card, a choice of five colours for a monochromic design, lace edging ( real or faux) and a butterfly.  I chose to use the 'Lilacs' option.  As the background in the patterned paper was cream, I made the card base with cream card.

I used patterned paper from a Papermania 'French Lavender' paper pad.  The butterfly is a very old Spellbinders die.  The card is kept closed with a brad and I added four tiny pearls.

When the card is opened, it reveals the panel to write the message.  I used a Martha Stewart punch to make the 'lace' edging for the panel.

I am joining in the following challenges:

Chester

Chester Cathedral

Lavinia Stamps

    1. We had good weather most of the time. When we came out Chester Cathedral on Monday, there was a very heavy downpour which lasted a couple of hours. It made me realise that my raincoat wasn't as waterproof as I thought, as I was soaked right through after about ten minutes! 🤣

I didn't realise that Lavinia's shop was fairly close by and would certainly have gone for a visit had I known. Look forward to seeing your goodies in due course. x
