Allsorts Challenge #800 ~ Anything Goes

It's our 800th challenge this week so Brenda is making it a bit special with a simple 'Anything Goes' theme and a few extra prizes from AALL and Create.

I made this card for my niece who celebrated her 50th Birthday.  I saw the fold demonstrated on the Nifty Noodles Crafting Facebook.
The patterned paper is from The Range,  I used Memory Box 'Stitched Circle Layers' dies and stamped the sentiment with Versafine Clair 'Fantasia'.  The sentiment is a stamp from the Stampin' Up 'Humming Along'.

The numbers were die cut with dies from The Works. They had candles attached to the number, but I snipped them off.  I used a Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots' embossing folder for the white side panels to add some texture.  The white panel inside is for the message and I stamped some flowers in the corner for added interest.

Golden Wedding Invitation

Last Sunday we invited a group of friends for a buffet lunch in our garden to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary.  There were thirty five of us and had the weather been like the weekend before, when it was our actual anniversary, we would have been bathed in sunshine under blue skies for the whole afternoon.  However, we put up a couple of gazebos, as rain was forecast on Sunday, but they don't protect you when the rain is falling horizontally!  We managed to eat our lunch outside in the short respite we had from the rain, but then we all dashed inside again when the heavens opened.  I think everyone still enjoyed themselves and it was lovely to celebrate with our friends.  Next weekend we are continuing the celebrations with a family meal in a lovely thatched pub, so no problems if it rains!

Back to my card.... this is the invitation I made for our friends.  A simple design which was easy to batch make.
I made the cards in cream and gold.  I used a Creative Expressions 'Swirling Heart' embossing folder with cream card and layered it on a gold mat.  The text was computer generated.

Craftlandia Challenge #20 ~ Hearts

The September Craftlandia Challenge begins today and runs until 30th September.  It was my turn to chose the theme this month and I've chosen Hearts/Anything Goes.  Our generous sponsor this month is Gecko Galz.

Our sponsor kindly gave the DT images to use and I chose the Artful Love Jewel It set.  It comes as a set of twelve heart images.  I reduced the size so the images would fit in a X-cut punched postage stamp.  I used six of them for my card.  The sentiment is a stamp from the Stampin' Up 'Painted Glass' set, stamped with Versafine 'Tulip Red'.

Please hop over the to Craftlandia Challenge to see the wonderful creations the DT have made for inspiration.

Allsorts Challenge ~ Get Well or Sympathy

It's my turn to choose the theme for the Allsorts Challenge this week and I've chosen 'Sympathy or Get Well'.  I always like to keep a few of these in my box of ready-made cards.  As always there is always the option of 'Anything Goes'.

Please read the updated Copyright and Privacy Policy on the Allsorts Challenge blog.

I used a Memory Box 'Open Studio Distressed Windham Collage' die in the corner of  a white piece of card and backed it with pink card, before layering it on a green mat.  The butterfly was made with Memory Box 'Pippi' and 'Isabella' die cuts.  I added a flight path with a fineliner pen.  The Stampin' Up 'Painted Glass' sentiment stamp was stamped with Versafine Clair 'Morning Mist'.

Prizes this week are Woodware stamps and Highlight A5 stencils.

Cacti Bowl and Holiday Photos ~ Warning, Long Post!

A card today made for a crafty friend's birthday.

The image is a Woodware 'Succulent Display' stamp, coloured with Promrkers.  I used Lisa Horton's 'Scalloped Layered Squares' dies for matting and layering.  The sentiment is a Woodware stamp and I used a die from the Memory Box 'Stitched Country Borders' set for the scalloped border.

If you have read this far, as promised in a previous post, here are just a few of my recent holiday photos.

We started our holiday with a few days in Hamburg in Germany.
Then we caught the sleeper train to Innsbruck, Austria, which was quite an experience!

This was my bed for the night!

We arrived at our destination for two weeks in beautiful Seefeld, Austria.  Our self-catering accommodation was on top floor........

...... and we woke up to this view every morning from our balcony.

One of the local churches.

A trip by chair lift to the top of the mountain overlooking the town.

Wonderful weather for most of the holiday, with so many lakes and mountains to visit.

A short train ride over the border into Mittenwald, Germany for the day.

Mittenwald

Finally, onto Vienna for our last few days.
The Schönbrunn Palace, Vienna.

A trip to Vienna wouldn't have been complete without sampling the famous Sachertorte.

So sad to hear in the news about all the flooding this week in places we visited only a couple of weeks ago.

Our Golden Wedding Anniversary

Here's the card I made for my hubby for our Golden Wedding Anniversary yesterday.  My hubby came up trumps giving me the latest Lavinia stamps bundle.  I think my daughter may have had a hand in his choice of gift. 😉

I made a Tower Card and kept the decorations fairly simple as it was a masculine card. The heart was die cut with dies from the Sue Wilson 'Laced Heart' set of dies. I bought the set in a sale ages ago but haven't used them until now, so I'll be sharing my card over in the NBUS Challenge. The side panels, were embossed with an X-cut 'Small Polka Hearts' embossing folder.

All the pale gold, pearlised card was snippets so I'll be sharing my card over in The Playground.  I've accumulated quite a few snippets of this lovely gold card as there have been quite a few Golden Wedding Anniversaries to make cards for this year.

Allsorts Challenge ~ Something Fishy

My hubby and I are celebrating our Golden Wedding Anniversary today.  50 years.... were does the time go!

A new Allsorts Challenge begins today and Gail has chosen the theme 'Something Fishy..... Ocean, Fish, Gulls etc'.  I was attempting to blitz my craft room and I came across this image I stamped a while ago on an inky background.  I thought it was time I made it into a card and this theme seemed the perfect time to use it.

The stamp is Lavinia 'Sebastian the Seahorse', stamped with Versafine Clair 'Nocturne'.  The background was made with Distress Inks, sprayed with a little water.  The sentiment is a stamp from Stampin' Up 'Best Year' set and I added three turquoise sequins to finish off my card.

There are lovely prizes from Lavinia stamps to be won.
(Please note, we (Lavinia) cannot provide exchanges/replacements/refunds for any products received through this third-party giveaway)

Golden Wedding

I haven't posted anything for the last few weeks, except for scheduled posts, as we've been on holiday.  We spent a few days in Hamburg, before catching the sleeper train down to Austria.  I'll share some photos in a later post.

Friends of ours will be celebrating their Golden Wedding Anniversary on Saturday, the same day as my hubby and me. (We have been married 2 hours longer than them.  😉)  This is the card I made for our friends.  I know they won't look at my blog, so I'm safe to post it on here.

The card fold was made with Made To Surprise 'Side Panel Showstopper' dies, which I used for the first time.   All the gold pearlised card was snippets, so I'll be sharing my card over in the Playground. I embossed one panel with a Couture Creations 'Tied Together' embossing folder and added some tiny white pearls.  The heart is a Memory Box 'Heart of Hearts' die and the sentiment is computer generated.  Three more tiny white pearls on the top left finished off my card.

Allsorts Challenge ~ Autumn Colours

Brenda has chosen the theme of 'Autumn Colours' for this week's Allsorts Challenge.  I decided to make a masculine card for a friend who recently celebrated his birthday.

I used a Studio Light triptych die, which I bought after seeing it on Di's blog HERE.  The owl and text were digi stamps from Beccy's Place 'What a Hoot', which is sadly discontinued.  I coloured the image with Promarkers. There is a pre-coloured version of the digi stamp, but I coloured it myself so a could use shades of brown to match the patterned paper.  The patterned paper was from The Range.

Prizes for weeks 787 and 789 are beautiful Lavinia stamps.

Heart's Quest Celebration of Love Challenge

I was delighted to be invited to be a Guest Designer for Heart's Quest of Celebrations of Love Challenge #9 which begins today. I've made a Flying Seagull Card for friends celebrating 50 years of wedded bliss.

I've made several Golden Wedding Anniversary cards this year already and as my hubby and I will be celebrating ours on 14th September I need to get on with making one for him!  I used a Memory Box 'Heart of Hearts' die on the panel in the centre.  The other panels were embossed with an Xcut 'Small Polka Hearts' embossing folder. I used a few of the golden 'waste' hearts to embellish the white panels.  The gold card I used is pearlised and came from one sheet, although in the photo it looks different shades.  The sentiment is computer generated.

The card folds flat for posting.
