The Less is More Challenge this week is a One Layer with the theme of 'Leaves'. My first thought was to use stamps, but I decided to use a punch I haven't used for quite a while.
I used a Martha Stewart Double Edge 'Vine Trim' punch to make a mask. I attached the punched vine to the card with removable glue, then masked off the sides. Using a dauber and a 'Mowed Lawn' Distress Ink Pad, I inked over the punched vine. The sentiment is a very old wood mounted stamp, which is probably a NBUS one - it certainly didn't look like it's been used before! . I stamped the sentiment using the same ink pad. I think this card is probably more suitable to send to a man. If I need a more feminine card, I'll add a few tiny punched flowers along the vine.
I am joining in the following challenges:
This one-layer CAS is just adorable!! So simple and clever! Love it very much!

I love that you created your own mask! Such a bespoke result, and it's a super effect, really crisp and clean. The sentiment is really beautiful in that elegant script. Thanks so much for playing along with us at Less is More :)
ReplyDeleteA great idea to make your own mask Liz and the finished result is fabulous. x
ReplyDeleteOh I do like your idea here! I'll certainly be looking at my MS punches with a different eye after seeing this pretty card. What a lovely stencil pattern this made, and while it's great for a guy, I think a lady would be very happy to get this one too! Thanks for your sweet comments about my messy stamp room! It's good to know I'm not the only one dealing with chaos!! TFS & Hugs
ReplyDeleteHere with my Cardz 4 Guyz hat on this morning - this is a perfect one layer card, using the border as a mask was a stroke of inspiration. So was stamping the sentiment in green, it's kept everything cool and calming. I tend to always use black for sentiments and I think black would have jarred against the green. In fact thinking about it, my own LIM card would have looked better with a green sentiment too.
