After spending a lovely weekend in Plymouth with a group of friends, my hubby and I had planned to have a few days in North Devon in our caravan.....which is where I should be now. However, the weather had other ideas, as the 'Beast from the East' made another appearance and brought with it lots of snow, particularly in North Devon. As the caravan site was cut off by the snow, we came straight home instead - quite a scary journey, as the snow was falling quite heavily in places. At least I can try and catch up on my blog visiting now that I'm home.
A card to share today I made for a card swap, which I can post now that I know it's been received.
A card to share today I made for a card swap, which I can post now that I know it's been received.
The card base is die cut from a set of Presscut dies, 'Scalloped Semi Circle'. I used Spellbinders circles and scallop circle dies for the middle, using white and teal card, the teal card is pearlised. The butterfly is a Spellbinders die which cuts out and embosses two butterflies for layering and I attached the butterfly with foam pads. It's an old die which sadly has been discontinued. The letters are Memory Box 'Upper Case Alphabet Soup' die cuts. I used snippets for everything apart from the card base and patterned card, so I'll be sharing my card in The Playground.

Sorry you time at the caravan was scuppered by the snow Liz and glad you managed to get home safely. I love your rocker card with the pretty blue paper, and the plain and scalloped circle dies and letters work so well. A gorgeous card. Great photos too of that enormous egg and fabulous Rembrandt painting, not something you would expect to find in an abbey. x
ReplyDeleteYikes $34 million - is it guarded? Your card is awesome - it just gave me some inspiration that I needed too. So pretty!

A very pretty card Liz. And I like the rocker shape. Most of the letter dies seem too big for my cards, but these look just right. I must remember that! Kate x
ReplyDeleteI love your shaped card, it's something I never think of trying myself. Sorry that your break was cut short, but glad that you stayed safe x
ReplyDeleteWOW How elegant is this card. Thanks for playing along with me this month. Lisa Monochrome Magic

ReplyDeleteFirst, Liz, before I forget, your card is such a pretty color and I love that shape! I don't think I've seen that before and I love all the awesome details! I'm sorry that your outing was cut short, but so glad to hear you made it home without incident! I grew up where winters had lots of snow and poor road conditions, so I know how scary that can be. Thanks so much for sharing those two cool photos!! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteWonderful card Liz - the Queen of Shapes and Die Cutting! So glad you got back home safely, can be very 'mouth drying' when on edge so much. But, you're here to tell the tale - and also with such a pretty card. I'm convinced you trained as an engineer, nurse, surgeon ot similar - the precision is fantastic and your card is a real delight!

ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear your vacation plans got waylaid by the awful weather, but very happy to hear that a scary trip home was made in safety. Bet you were so pleased to be back where it's warm & cozy too! Love this pretty rocker card with the soft aqua & white. The scallops on the edges made me think of the delicate aprons the ladies used to wear, and the butterfly looks right at home too! Loved seeing the pictures of your sightseeing...they are just awesome! TFS & Hugs
