Wedding Card

A wedding card today for the daughter of very good friends of ours.  I've known Charlotte since she was a small child and by chance taught her when I was doing my teacher training in the 1990s.....she was 6 years old then.

For this card, I used white linen card and pink pearlised card.  The pink is a lovely, delicated shade and I coloured the pearls for the centres of the flowers with a 'Dusky Rose' Promarker, which was exactly the same shade.  I used the following dies:
Sue Wilson ~ Ornate Pierced Square, String Flowers, Petite Vinery
and Memory Box ~ Heart of Hearts
The sentiment is computer generated, printed in grey and die cut with a stitched rectangular die from The Works.  The sentiment is raised up on foam pads to add dimension.

Snowflake

Another Christmas card as the Rudolph Days May Challenge starts today and finishes at the end of the month.

I used Sue Wilson a 'Merry Christmas Trim' die and 'Bold Snowflake Frame' set of dies with red card.  I used one of the dies from the snowflake set again with non-shed silver  glitter card, and put the silver snowflake in the aperture left in the red card.  The embossing folder is Crafters Companion 'Diamond Snowflake'.

CAS Snowmen

A very CAS Christmas card today so I can join in a few challenges and sneak in a last minute entry into the 'CAS Christmas May Challenge', where the theme is 'Snowman'.   My card is a one layer card, using just two stamps.

The image is a wood mounted Funstamp 'Snowman Border' rubber stamp.  A friend gave me the stamp recently after she asked if I used "those wood and plastic things for making cards", LOL!  She had been given a bag of pre-loved craft things and thought I might like them, as she didn't want them.  I stamped the image with Memento 'Tuxedo Black', holding my breath as I tried to get the image straight first time.  Fortunately it looked fine, so I didn't have to turn it into a layered card. 😉  The image was coloured with ultra fine Sharpie pens and the snowmen and snowballs covered with a Spectrum Noir clear sparkle brush pen, the sparkle shows up better IRL.  The sentiment is a stamp from a Papermania set, which by luck I also managed to stamp straight without a stamp press.  😊

Twofer - Butterflies

Darnell's Twofer Challenge started when we were on holiday and now that we're home there are only a couple of days left to join in the challenge!  Challenge #5 is to use butterflies, making two different cards, for two different occasions, using the same stamp or die.

I decided on the Memory Box 'Vivienne Butterfly' for both cards.  I knew there wasn't something quite right about the card on the right.  Just before making my post live, I suddeny realised I'd forgotten to add the butterfly's body!   So I quickly added the body and took new photos for this post.

I am joining in the Twofer Challenge #5 with this pair of cards.

My first card is my second attempt at an Impossible Fold card.  I started with a piece of 7" x 5" green card.  The patterned papers are from a very old Provocraft paper pad.  For this butterfly, I also used the Memory Box 'Darla Butterfly' which I cut out in white and attached the green 'Vivienne Butterfly' die cut over the top.  The butterfly is attached just in the middle to leave the wings free. I used a Woodware punch for the leaves.

This is a side view of the card.

For my second card, I covered the front of a card blank with blue card.  I used the Memory Box 'Vivienne Butterfly' die in the middle of a snippet of yellow card, creating an aperture.  Behind the aperture I attached a snippet of grey card.  I die cut a blue 'MB 'Vivienne Butterfly' and popped it in the aperture.  The edge of the yellow card was die cut with a MB 'Stitched Country Border' die and I added a 'Blue Babe' Nuvo Crystal Drop in each of the scallops.  I finished off my card with a sentiment from the Happy Little Stampers 'Dandelion Wishes' set of stamps.

In the Pink

The Allsorts Challenge finishes tomorrow and I knew I wouldn't get home in time from our break in Devon to make a card.  So, with the limited supplies I took to our caravan, I came up with a CAS card today with the theme 'In the Pink', which I'll add to my box of ready-made cards.

My first problem was that I had no pink card, patterned paper or ink.  I found a pack of card, which included several sheets of pink, in the local Pound Shop.  I had a few dies with me from The Works, so I used the Rocking Horse and a couple of the Stitched Circle dies.  I keep some computer generated sentiments in the caravan, so chose an appropriate one, matted it on pink card and attached it with foam pads.  We stopped in my favourite craft store on the way here and by chance I bought a bottle of 'Party Pink' Nuvo Crystal Drops.  I added three drops in the corner of the card, they are the same colour pink as the card IRL.

Snowdrops

After a wonderful trip to Rome last week, I'm back with a card I made recently.  A few photos of our trip are at the end of this post.

I don't usually put flowers on masculine cards for some reason, but my friend's hubby's hobby is growing snowdrops and he has over sixty different varieties!
I found this image from Craftuprint.  It comes with extra images to enable it to be decoupaged, but I decided it seem more suitable as a single layer for a man's card.  I added a computer generated sentiment in green and layered the image on a dark green mat.  Using the same green card, I die cut a Joy Crafts 'Autumn Leaves', as the shape of the leaves matched the leaves in the image.  I snipped off a couple of leaves to make it more balanced for the space I had, before attaching the side of the card.

Gatefold Penguin Card

I was delighted to be asked to make a GD snippets card for the current Pixie's Snippets Playground Challenge.  I often use my SU Owl punch for making penguins, so I thought I'd try and make a gatefold owl card using an owl set of dies.  I made an owl card HERE using the owl dies.
I used the  Sizzix 'Owl Fold A Long' set of dies and did a little creative cutting to reshape the head. I die cut a white stitched circle, cut it in half and trimmed a little of both of the straight edges, before attaching to the main penguin shape. It's difficult to see the  pattern on the wings, as both layers are black, but they show up well IRL.  As penguins' eyes are smaller than owls' eyes, I didn't add the die cuts that go around the white eyes.

I used grey and white star patterned paper for the insides and left the white card in the middle black to write the greeting.

Everything I used, except for the black card, was snippets.

Things with Wings

The theme of the Crafty Calendar Challenge this month is 'Things with wings'.   For my DT card, I made an easel card using a digi stamp from one of our sponsors.
The digi stamp is from All Dressed Up - 'Flyaway Butterfly', which I coloured with Promarkers and die cut a using Memory Box 'Stitched Rectangle' die.  The patterned paper is from a Dovecraft paper pack, 'Princess Fairytale'.   I added two Sue Wilson 'String Flowers' die cuts, with pearls for the centres.  I coloured white pearls with one of the Promarkers as I used for the dress.

New Chairman

A card today for a friend who became the Chairman of a club recently that I was delighted to be invited to join this year as an honorary member.
I computer generated the text and the logo of the club on the front of the card.  I attached the oval die cut, using the Sue Wilson 'Innsbruck' die from Austrian Collection in the same colour as the logo.  The flower is a Sue Wilson 'Faux Quilled Blooms' with a pearl centre.  This pearl and the three in the corner were coloured with Promarkers to match the turquoise and pale yellow card.

I'm mentally preparing myself for being taken out of my comfort zone tomorrow.  I'm going to a local Art Journal/Mixed Media day, there won't be a CAS project in sight!  Apron and wet wipes are packed ready, but I'm just wondering what colour my fingers will be by the time I've finished. 😨

Thank You

A thank you card for a blogging friend, which I can post now that I know it's been received.
I stamped the Little Claire 'Swirly Whirlie Cats' with Memento 'Tuxedo Black' on cream cardstock and coloured the image with Promarkers.  The image was die cut with a Creative Dies 'Squares - Wonky Stitches' die.  This was layered on a black piece of card and attached to a cream card blank.  The sentiment stamp is from the Happy Little Stampers 'Doodled Flowers' set of stamps, stamped with Versafine 'Onyx Black'.
