Anniversary Diamonds

An anniversary card to share today.

The focus of my card is five solid silver hearts, encrusted with diamonds. Okay....... a bought a 2 metre string of these hearts for £1, so perhaps they're not genuine. 😉 I've had the hearts for ages and wasn't quite sure what I was going to do with them, until now.  The embossing folder I used is by Creative Expressions, 'Swirling Hearts'. I added a few red and silver Card Candi.

Love

A feminine card today, continuing my mission of trying to use some of my old stash.  I thought this would be suitable for an anniversary or engagement card.

I used an old wood mounted Docraft text stamp (dated 2004!) for the main focus, stamping it with Versafine Clair 'Morning Mist'. The papers are from an old Docrafts paper pad and I found a snippet of embossed white card from a previous project, which was just the right size.  All the grey card was also snippets, bought from the local Scrapstore ages ago.  Three white pearls finished off my card.

Snowman Family

A Christmas card to share today.  As February is short month, the Rudolph Days Challenge is only open for four days..

I found a piece of suitable patterned paper in my snippets drawer.  The image is an old wood mounted stamp, stamped with Versafine Clair 'Nocturne' and coloured with Promarkers.  The sentiment is from a Papermania set of stamps.  I added a Memory Box 'Twilight Snowflakes' die cut.

Bench Card

A card today which I made for a recent card swap.

The patterned paper is from an old Papermania paper pad.  The two white panels across the top are embossed with a Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots' embossing folder.  I made a 'Spirelli' die cut with a Spellbinders die and wound silver metallic thread round.  This was layered with foam tape on a Memory Box 'Stitched Circle Layers' die cut and a 'Stitched Square Layers' die cut.  The butterfly was made with two dies, Poppystamps 'Elsa Butterfly' and 'Lyndon Butterfly'.  There is no body with these particular dies, so I used the body from the Memory Box 'Pippi Butterfly' die.  The butterfly is attached just by the body, leaving the wings free.

The card folds flat for posting and measures 6" x 4".

Mirror Card

A masculine card today.  I'd forgotten how tricky it is to photograph cards with so much mirror card and this was the best I could do.

I used a Lisa Horton 3D 'Padded Quilt' embossing folder with silver mirror card for the background.  The layered ovals are Memory Box 'Stitched Oval Layers' die cuts and are raised up on foam tape to add some extra dimension.  The sentiment is stamped with Versafine Clair 'Nocturne' and the numbers are dies from the Works.  A few black and white Card Candi finished off my card.

Happy Birthday

A Birthday card today.

I made a frame with two dies from a Lisa Horton 'Stitched Scalloped Squares'.  I embossed the background with a Spellbinder 'Dainty Dots' e/f and die cut it into a square to inlay into the frame.  I used an old Funstamps wood mounted stamp, 'Glasgow Nouveau 2' and coloured in the three images with Promarkers before layering them on a black mat.

Stencilled Heart

I don't use my stencils as much as I should, so I had a play with an ink pad and a stencil for this card.

I made a mask with a scalloped heart die and inked through the aperture with a soft make-up brush using a 'Picked Raspberry' Distress Ink pad.  I've done this several times before, but this time I left the mask in place, layered a Lavina 'Feather Leaf' stencil over the top and using the same ink pad to ink through the stencil.  I added a little stencilling to the top corners and add a strip of ribbon.  The layered sentiment is raised up on foam pads.

The image is raised up on foam tape.  The sentiment is from a SU set of stamps and coloured with a blue Promarker.   I used Crafter's Companion football embossing folder and added a piece of football ribbon.

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day

I've already shared the Valentine card I made for my hubby HERE so I thought I'd share another romantic card I made this week instead, this time a CAS card.

The silhouette is a Marianne 'French Cats' die cut, layered on a mottled blue background.  The die came with a 'J'adore' sentiment stamp, but when I stamped it, I didn't like the font as there was a line where I didn't think there should be one, so I printed out the sentiment on the computer.  I made the frame with two Memory Box 'Stitched Square Layers' dies and raised it up on foam pads.  The little hearts are the waste from a previous die cut.  The frame and the base card are the same card, although they look a different shade of white. I'm practising using my new light box when taking photos of my cards so the colours are more true to life.  I haven't quite mastered the best place to position the lights. 😉

Golfer

The Covid vaccines are rolling out quickly here and I had an appointment for my first vaccine today.   Although I will need a second jab in about 12 weeks, it made me feel that there is now a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel.

A Double Z Fold masculine card today for a good friend of ours who is a keen golfer.

The digi stamp is from Bugaboo called 'Gus Golf' and is coloured with Promarkers.  I printed the image, added a sentiment on the computer and die cut it with a Memory Box 'Stitched Square Layers' die.

The sentiment inside is from Bugaboo too and came as a set with the image.

The is the inside of the card when opened, it folds flat for posting.  The papers were from an old 'Me to You' paper pad and the die cut heart was embossed with a Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots' e/f.  I’ll write the message on the dotty square, or I might add a smaller plain white square over the top for the message.

Foxy Birthday

The Crafty Calendar Challenge begins today with the theme 'Dies and/or punches..Plus Ribbon and/or Twine'.

Oddball Art  are one of our sponsors and the DT were kindly given digi stamps to use.  I chose to use 'Mr Sweets the Fox', which I coloured with Promarkers.  The die cut is Memory Box 'Grand Happy Birthday'.  I used the die with green card, attached it to the card blank and inlaid the brown letters.  Three Card Candi and a piece of twine wrapped around the card front and tied in a bow finished off my card.

Please visit the Crafty Calendar Challenge  blog to see all the wonderful creations the DT have made.

Puppy Card

A birthday card to share today with a dog theme.

The image is a pre-coloured digi stamp from Beccy's Place.  I used Memory Box 'Stitched Square Layers' dies for matting and layering the image, which is raised up on foam tape.  I cut a slighty larger patterned paper square and layered it on a brown mat.  The background was embossed with a Creative Expression 'Pawprint Lattice' e/f, a favourite of mine for cat or dog cards.  Three tiny pale green pearls finished off my card.

Herringbone

The Butterfly Challenge this fortnight is 'H for Herringbone Card, Hemp, Heat Wave, Hansa Yellow, Hazel and a Butterfly'.  Mrs A has a few tutorials HERE for the herringbone pattern, something I haven't tried before.  Rummaging through my snippets drawer, I found a piece of stripy patterned paper with all three colours in the challenge,  a contrasting piece of brown patterned paper from the same paper pad and a snippet of orange card.

Following Mrs A's instructions I made a herringbone pattern and attached it to a rectangle of card (another snippet).   I used strips 1cm wide, I think next time I'll use narrower strips.   I stamped a sentiment using a brown ink pad on a snippet of white card and punched it with a SU label punch.  I drew a few lines on the label with a brown fineliner pen for added interest.  I found a piece of hemp, threaded it through the holes in the label and attached it at the back of the herringbone card.  I tied a bow with a little piece of hemp and attached it with a glue dot.  The sentiment label is raised up with foam pads.  The herringbone card was attached to a 7" x 5" card blank with foam tape.  I finished off the card with a butterfly made with Poppystamps 'Elsa Butterfly' and 'Lyndon Butterfly' die.   All snippets today, except for the card blank, so I'll be sharing my card over in The Playground.
