Paper Pieced Robin

The October Rudolph Days Challenge begins today and runs until the end of the month.  The challenge this month is slightly different, as there is an optional challenge to include paper piecing.  This is in honour of Kath of Plain & Simple who sadly passed away recently.  Kath often did beautiful paper piecing on her cards, which I'm sure were regularly seen by many bloggers. 

The stamp is a Woodware one, 'Patch Robin Square'.  The blue background and red berries are coloured with Promarkers.  Everything else in the image is paper pieced with Christmas papers.  I used the same patterned papers for the background, punching out three circles to put along the panel in the middle.

  2. My fave Woodware stamp and one I love to Paper piece too, but I went with a different one this time. Your card is just delightful and I love the pale blue background - it looks like a sunny winters day.

  3. A lovely creation as always Liz and Kath would have loved it, I've seen one or two she paper pieced with that very image, she loved Woodware stamps.

  10. I love the pretty paper piecing of this cute robin Liz and the three different layers of papers with the added circles on the green strip, and the matted sentiment finish it perfectly. x

    Was going to add my card today but when I saw the paper-piecing option in honour of Kath I had to go and make another one!

  20. I love this Ruddy card, it's such a wonderful tribute to Kath! Your bird looks so gorgeous paper pieced. I tend to forget about paper piecing, but need to do it more often since it lends such fabulous results. Love this gorgeous card Liz! Hugs, Brenda
