HAPPY EASTER
Happy Easter to everyone visiting my blog. My hubby and I had a lovely afternoon today visiting Avebury where there is one of the best known prehistoric sites in Britain. It contains the largest megalithic stone circle in the world. There are a few photos at the end of this post.
I saw the instructions for a Trellis card HERE on Lesley's blog and this is my version. I changed the dimensions slightly, so my finished card measures 5" x 6 1/2”.
The strips for the trellis are 1/2" wide, so perfect for using up some of my snippets. The mats on the panel were snippets too. The patterned paper was from a 12" x 12" paper pad from The Range. One of the pages had large sunflowers on so, as much as I dislike fussy cutting, I cut out two and attached them with foam pads to add some dimension. The sentiment is a stamp from the Stampin' Up 'Best Year' set, stamped in navy blue.

Snippets have been used to great effect on the cheery sunflower card. That yarn-bombed post box is great fun and some lovely photos of Avebury. I didn't realise that the stones were actually as large as that because pictures I've seen don't usually have people in them to show the scale.
ReplyDeleteI really like the trellis design card, and thanks for sharing the tutorial. Great fussy cutting! Those photos are a wonderful piece of another side of the world I've never seen and those rock formations are just amazing too!

Your sunflower card is an absolute delight. Lovely use of snippets. I've eaten plenty of chocolate over Easter and am now about to play hopscotch with Darnell if you want to join in! LOL! xxx
What a fabulous card Liz! The colours/papers work SO well together and the added flowers are absolutely a 'Liz's special' touch! Like Val. I hadn't realised how big the stones at Avebury are. It's so nice that it isn't all fenced off like Stonehenge. Great set of photos!

I remember the days when Stonehenge wasn’t fenced off, parking was very close to the stones and everyone could walk right up and touch them. xx
DeleteThose fussy cut flowers look so dimensional and the trellis work is so pretty. What a charming village to visit. Those stones are awesome. Wow, imagine having those in your backyard. The houses are wonderful and that thatched barn roof is so cool. The postbox decoration is so fun and inventive. I'm so happy you shared these pictures. The manor is just so elegant.

A great design with the two tone papers in that trellis design Liz, and the added cut out flowers look beautiful. It looks like you had a wonderful time at Avebury and some super photos too. We have been to Stonehenge but this in some ways looks much better, actually being able to walk up to the stones, and the village looks lovely too. x
