Graduation

A Graduation card to share today, my layout is based on a sketch in a Facebook craft group.

The owl is a Stampin' Up punch and I added a little mortar board and glasses.  He's sat on a branch from the SU 'Two Step Bird Builder punch'.   The panel across the middle was stencilled with a Lavinia 'Pebble' stencils, using Distress Inks.  I used a little piece of patterned paper front my snippets drawer for the die cut semi-circle.  A couple of banner die cuts, a sentiment and three brown pearls finished off my card.

White on White..... with a little red

The Rudolph Days January Challenge begins today and runs until the end of the month.  My card was fairly quick to make, so I think I may batch make some more to get ahead with Christmas cards for this year.

I used Couture Creations 'Reindeer Games' embossing folder and added a Poppystamps 'Snow Flocked Tree' die cut, raised up on foam pads.  I put glitter all along the layers of the die cut tree to add some sparkle.   The sentiment is a stamp from the Stampin' Up 'Perfectly Plaid' set, stamped in Versafine 'Satin Red'. The embossed background it layered on a red mat and I gave Rudolph a red nose with a Promarker pen.

Lego Card

Welcome to my new follower, Sharon of Making The World Sparkle.  I hope you have time visit my blog again soon.

I made a Lego card today.  I'm not sure who will receive it, so I've left a space to add a number.

To make the Lego bricks, I cut rectangles of card 5cm x 2 1/2cm and squares 2 1/2cm x 2 1/2cm. The circles are punched with a 1cm punch and attached with little foam pads.  I used a Sizzix embossing folder to make the background.

Skateboarding

A Double Z-Fold card for a child today.  I have several of this range of wood mounted stamps.  I used them many times to make birthday cards for the children in my Reception class when I was teaching.

The image is an old Woodware - Francoise Read stamp, 'Skateboard Dude', coloured with Promarkers.  The image is die cut with a Memory Box 'Stitched Square Layers' die and layered on a red mat.  I used patterned paper from Papermania 'Secret Garden' and Echo Park 'Scoot' paper pads.  I added gold star sequins to tie in with the stars in the image.

Corner Fold Card

I'm sure this fold has a special name, but I don't know what it is.  The card measures 7" x 5" and the two top corners are folded inside the card.

I used LOTV ‘Perfect Pair' patterned paper  The sentiment is a set of Stamp Market 'Paper Hug' dies.  The flowers were made with dies from Lisa Horton's first box kit, with tiny white pearls in the centres.

When the card is opened, it reveals the folded in corners with layered hearts attached.  I added a layered circle in the centre for the message.

Anniversary Card

An Anniversary card to share today.  I followed a sketch for the layout of this card, rotating and flipping the original sketch.

I used Frantic Stamper 'Love Cats' and 'Stitched Fishtail Banners' dies.  The cats were layered on Memory Box stitched circle die cuts.  The patterned paper was a snippet from an old paper pad and all the hearts were the waste from previous die cuts.  I finished off my card with three pink sequins.

New Home

New Home card for friends who have recently moved.

I used a Marianne Designs cross stitch die and cut the shape with a Spellbinders 'Postage Stamp' die.  After cross stitching the design with crochet cotton, I layered the postage stamp die cut on a red mat.  The 'keys' embossing folder is an old one and I'm not sure of the brand.

Blocking unwanted followers

Before I show my card, I thought I'd share some information for blocking unwanted followers on Blogger.  I read recently on a blogging friend's blog that she was unable to block a spam follower.  I had a similar follower a while ago and managed to work out how to block them.

1.Click on the ‘Stats’ button on the editing page, at the top of the page it shows how many followers you have.
2. Click on this and it brings up a list of all your followers, with the option to block any individual follower.

Hope this helps anyone who has been having a similar problem with unwanted followers.

Onto my card.  I saw this idea on the Nifty Noodles Crafting Facebook page for using up leftover thin strips of card to make a tent fold card.
The patterned paper is from a Trimcraft 'Sail Away' paper pad.  The yacht is a new die I won in the Memory Box Challenge.  The sails come as separate die cuts which makes the yacht easy to assemble. The cloud is one of the dies from the Memory Box 'Puffy Clouds', with a little creative cutting to make it fit the space.  The stitched plain and scalloped circles are MB die cuts too.

This photo shows the inside of the card.  The sentiment is a stamp from the Stampin' Up 'Sailing Home' set.  The back of the card has a plain white panel, layered on a red mat.

CAS Card

A CAS card today using two new stamps.

The flowers are from the Lavinia  'Lilium Set' and 'Lilium' sets of stamps, stamped with Memento 'Tuxedo Black' and coloured with Promarkers. The image in the circle is a stamp with three flower heads, so I masked one so the other two fitted in the circle.  I used Memory Box 'Stitched Circle Layers' die for matting and layering.  A sentiment and three tiny purple pearls finished off my card.

Bookmark Card

If you enjoy visits to The Snippets Playground, have you seen that Di has a brand new challenge blog HERE?  I'll be sharing this card over in the challenge as I've used lots of snippets today.

I followed a link on Claire's 'String Bows' blog for instructions to make an origami butterfly bookmark.  You can find the video HERE.  I decided to turn the bookmark into a card. The bookmark used my first snippet, a 7cm x 11cm piece of red paper.

The circle mats are a combination of Memory Box and Sue Wilson die cuts. (The black and white mats were made with snippets.) The embossed background was a snippet, already embossed, which I think was done with an A4 Xcut butterfly embossing folder.

I attached a fancy paperclip to the mat so I could make the butterfly removable.  I added small pearls to the drawn antennae and three pearls in the corner of the card.

The bookmark slides over the corner of the page.

Birthday Owl!

It's the first Saturday of the month, so time for a new Crafty Calendar Challenge.  The theme this month is Anything Goes and our generous sponsors are All Dressed Up  and  Crafty Ribbons.

All Dressed Up kindly gave the DT digi stamps to work with and I chose to use Christmas Owl.  I thought the image would be perfect for lots of occasions and I decided to make a birthday card.  The image was coloured with Promarkers and a couple of Ultra Fine Sharpies.  I made the brown mat with a Spellbinders 'Leafy Squares' die and attached a green square of card behind.  The patterned paper is from a Papermania 'Secret Garden' paper pad.  The flower and leafs are die cuts from Lisa Horton's first box kit.

The Crafty Calendar Challenge ends on 28th January, so plenty of time to join in.  Please pop over to the blog to see all the beautiful creations the DT have made.

Black, White and Red

An octagonal card today, which folds flat for posting.

I used Sue Wilson's 'Double Stitched Octagonal' dies for the card shape and the layers.  The patterned paper is from a Dovecraft 'Monochrome' paper pad and the flowers were made with punches.  The sentiment is from the Stampin' Up 'Humming Along' set of stamps.

Shaun the Sheep

I made this card for a card swap for someone who likes Shaun the Sheep.  I adapted a cross stitch pattern I found online to fit my card.

I used a Marianne 'Cross Stitch Circle' die and die cut into a circle using a Memory Box 'Stitched Circles Layers' die and layered it on a MB 'Stitched Scallop Circle' die. The cross stitching was done with crochet cotton.   I think the embossing folder I used was a Creative Expressions one.  I finished off my card with two black Card Candi and a sentiment.
