Valentine Hammock Card

I saw fold demonstrated on the Nifty Noodles Crafting Facebook page recently and decided to make this style of card for my hubby's Valentine card.

The patterned paper is from The Range and I used an X-cut 'Small Polka Hearts' embossing folder. I used punches for the hearts and the sentiment layers.

Allsorts Challenge ~ Embossing, Dry or Wet

A new Allsorts Challenge begins today and Val has chosen the theme of 'Embossing, dry or wet'.

I used a Lisa Horton 'Padded Quilt' embossing folder for the background.  The butterflies are Memory Box 'Pippi' and 'Isabella' die cuts and the flowers were made with punches.  The sentiment is a stamp from the Stampin' Up 'Humming Along' set, stamped with Versafine Clair 'Paradise'.

The prize this time is Lisa Horton Rambling Woodgrain Rose embossing folder and coordinating stencils.

Squares

I watched a video this week on the Nifty Noodles Crafting Facebook page demonstrating this design.  It's a perfect design for using snippets.  My card is a similar layout as the card in the video, but I made a few changes by adding ribbon and the positioning of the sentiment.

The papers are from The Range and I die cut lots of snippers into squares with a Memory Box 'Perfect Patch Strip', which cuts five stitched squares in one go.  I bought the die years ago because it was in a sale, but only used it today for the first time, so I'll be sharing my card over in the NBUS challenge.  The embossing was done with a Lisa Horton 'Layered Petals' embossing folder.

I made a second card with patterned papers, also from The Range.  I chose non-floral papers as I though I could use it for a masculine card.  I used a Lisa Horton 'Cubes' embossing folder on this card.

As I'll be sharing my card over in the Snippets Playground,  I remembered to take a photo of my snippets leftovers.

Thank You Twofer

It really is a small world.  I was emailed by an American blogging friend recently.  They have a friend who I think lives in France, who has a friend who lives in Wales.   Are you still with me? The friend in Wales wanted to pass all his late wife's crafting things onto another crafter who would use them or pass them on to be used.  We live in England, but only just over an hour's drive from the friend in Wales, so my hubby and I drove over to Severn Bridge last Monday and came home with fourteen big boxes full of of various crafting things to sort.  Ten boxes are sorted and I have four to go!  I wanted to make a thank you card for the lovely man who gave me the craft items, using some things I was given.  As his passion is classic cars, I was delighted to find this image in one of the boxes.

The image was from a set of topper cards from Stamped Out For You, 'Sepia Mini Sentiments'.  The topper had a sentiment on, so I chopped off the sentiment and just used the image. The patterned paper was also in one of the boxes, but I don't know the brand as there were a few loose sheets of this design.  The sentiment is a Impression Obsession 'Thanks' die cut.  I used dark brown card for the mats and the sentiment.  As the topper was from a new pack, I'll be sharing my card over in the NBUS challenge.

Initially, I didn't add any Card Candi to the first card and it looked a bit bare.  I thought the image might look better on a rectangular card so I made a second card.  When I added the Card Candi to this card, I decided to add some to the first card too and I think it now looks more balanced.  So now I have a spare masculine Thank You card for my box of ready-made cards.  I think I will probably send the first one over to Wales.

Crafty Calendar Challenge ~ Love is in the Air

The Crafty Calendar February Challenge begins today with the theme 'Love is in the Air'.

I made this anniversary card for friends who celebrated their 41st Wedding Anniversary.  I used both the dies from the Craft Addiction 'The Heart Collection' set.  The scallop background is a die from the Lisa Horton 'Scallop Layered Squares' set.

The Crafty Calendar Challenge ends on 28th February, so please hop over to the challenge blog to see the beautiful creations the DT have made for inspiration.

Allsorts Challenge ~ Create Your Own Background

Donna has chosen the theme for this fortnight's Allsorts Challenge and theme is 'Create Your Own Background'.  As always, there is also Anything Goes option.

I was lucky enough to win this Visible Image 'Frosty' stencil in The Playground recently, so I gave it its first outing using Distress Oxide ink pads.   The sentiment is a Impression Obsession 'Thanks' die.  The orange and green card was all from my snippets drawer.

I am joining in the following challenges with this card:

The stencil I used was a 6 x 6 one, so I made a second card using the strip of stencilled card left over.  There was enough orange and green card left too.

The flower is a Memory Box 'Prim Poppy' die cut, using one of my favourite flower dies.  I cut the flower out in green first and then just the flower heads in orange and layered them on top of the green.

As You Like It Challenge ~ Favourite Die and why (I've had this die for over ten years and I love the simplicity of the design.  It's perfect for so many occasions.)

The Allsorts prize this time is a set of four background stamps from AALL and Create.

Santa Wine Glass

Another Christmas card to add to the pile.

I've been looking for this Santa wine glass die for a long time and finally found one for sale.  I used lots of snippets to make the decorated wine glass.  The background was embossed with a Christmas text embossing folder.  I'm not sure of the brand, but I think it may be Crafter's Companion.  I’ve got lots of red, black, white and gold snippets, so I think I will probably make quite a few more Christmas cards of this design.

Granddaughter Card

A card for my granddaughter who celebrated her 16th birthday recently.

I made the card base with a Crafter's Companion 'Triple-Stepper' set of dies.  The patterned paper is from The Works.  I used two of my favourite butterfly dies, Memory Box  'Pippi Butterfly' and 'Isabella Butterfly'.

We returned home yesterday from a few days in our caravan in North Devon.  We were lucky enough be in an area with no light pollution when the Northern Lights appeared on Monday. Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera with me and this is the best I could get using my mobile phone.

Allsorts Challenge ~ For Men and Boys

A new Allsorts Challenge begins today and Ellie has chosen the theme of 'For Men and Boys'.  As always there is also the option of Anything Goes.

I've made a masculine Staggered Front Card.  The patterned papers are from an old Trimcraft paper pad, 'Sail Away'.  The sentiment is a stamp from the Stampin' Up 'Best Year' set, stamped with Versafine Clair 'Nocturne'.

The Allsorts prizes this time are two A5 stamp sets from Sweet Poppy.

Stepper Christmas Card

Another Christmas card for the pile.  I saw this style of card demonstrated on the Nifty Noodles Crafting Facebook page yesterday.  I haven't seen this fold before, but it's really easy to make.

The patterned papers and topper are from a paper pad from The Works.  The sentiment is a stamp from the Stampin' Up 'Dashing Deer' set.  As the text on the topper is grey, I stamped the sentiment with Versafine Clair 'Morning Mist.

Christmas Snippets

I'm on a mission to reduce my snippets pile and also keep ahead with my Christmas cards.

The patterned papers were all snippets from a paper pad from The Works, cut into 2cm strips.  The sentiment is a stamp from the Stampin' Up 'Greatest Part of Christmas' set, stamped with SU 'Night of Navy'.  I used an SU punch for the navy blue mat for the sentiment.

Allsorts Challenge ~ Winter Animals

This is my second post today, please scroll down to see my Crafty Calendar Challenge DT card.

A new Allsorts Challenge begins today and Helen has chosen the theme of 'Winter Animals'.  There is also the usual option of Anything Goes.

I used stamps from the Stampin' Up 'Dashing Deer' set and stamped the images and sentiment with Versafine 'Monarch'. The mat and punched snowflakes are silver pearlised paper.

The prizes this time are Visible Image stamps sets and coordinating dies.

Crafty Calendar Challenge ~ New

The Crafty Calendar Challenge begins today with the theme 'New'.  Perhaps you will choose new baby, new home, new job, new craft supplies...... or perhaps you will think of something else that's 'New'.

The patterned paper is from Limetree Crafts.  I used an embossing folder with tiny baby feet.  I die cut Memory Box die 'Baby Carriage' using pearlised pink card and layered it onto the embossed background using foam pads.  I used deep pink for the mats.

The Crafty Calendar Challenge ends on 28th January.  I'm looking forward to seeing what 'New' theme you choose for your creation.
