Allsorts Challenge ~ One for the Girls

A new Allsorts Challenge begins today with optional theme 'One for the Girls'.  My DT card is a feminine card with lots of pinky/purple papers, a butterfly and blooms.

The style is called a Flying Seagull Card which I made after watching a YouTube Video by Susan Campfield HERE.  The papers are from a paper pad from The Works.  I die cut two Memory Box 'Chloe Stems' for the side panels and the butterfly is a Memory Box 'Swirl Butterfly', attached by the body leaving the wings free.

The card folds flat for posting.

There are some wonderful prizes to be won this month from WOWVOW, Oakwood Direct and Craft Stash

Standing Pop Up Card

The currently Butterfly Challenge is 'S for Standing Pop Up Card'.  The additional elements are Stripes and the following colours, Sea Green, Salmon, Sky Blue and Straw + a butterfly.  Mrs A. has put the instructions for the fold HERE.

I've also seen this fold called a Bench Card.  For my card I've gone with the fold, the theme of stripes and two colours, Sea Green and Straw, plus the usual butterfly.   The papers are from a paper pad from The Range.   I die cut Memory Box 'Kensington Branch' from the stripy Sea Green paper and snipped off the bottom half so it fitted on the front panel.   I added tiny straw coloured flowers to the middle of the flowers and three sea green pearls in the top left hand corner.  The sentiment from the SU 'Humming Along' stamp set, stamped with Versafine Clair 'Morning Mist'.

The card folds flat for posting.

CAS Christmas Card

Rudolph Day has come round again, where has the first four months of this year gone!  This is my CAS Christmas card for the April Challenge.

The snowflake aperture die is a preloved one I bought recently, which I think is a Clarity die.  The person who sold it to me said it belonged to her late mother-in-law and was glad it was going to a good home, so I didn't want it to sit in my NBUS pile for long.  I die cut the snowflake into a snippet of white card and cut into a square with a Memory Box 'Stitched Squares Layers' die and a blue mat from the same set.  I used a SU sentiment, stamped with Versafine 'Paradise'.

I made a similar card in black and white, using a different sentiment.  As these were fairly quick to make, I think I will batch make a few of these in different colours, using up snippets of white and coloured card.

In the Kitchen

I coloured this House Mouse image a while ago with Promarkers and finally got round to making it into a card.

The image and mat was die cut using a Memory Box 'Stitched Square Layers' dies.  The background was embossed with a Cuttlebug cupcake embossing folder.  As the stamp was inked up for the first time, I'll be sharing my card over in the NBUS Challenge.

Masculine Birthday Card

It's my  hubby's birthday today and this is the card I made for him.  The fold is called Flying Seagull and I watched a video for the instructions HERE.

The papers are from a Dovecraft 'Blue Skies' paper pad.  I die cut the Happy Birthday in navy blue, layered it on a snippet of white card and fussy cut the circle using the die cut as a guide.  The hearts were punched.

Allsorts Challenge ~ For the love of Animals

The optional theme for the Allsorts Challenge this week is 'For the Love of Animals'.

I made a stepper card using a Presscut 'Step Card' die for the card base.  The image is an old Hobby Art 'Medium Daisy Cat' wood mounted stamp, which I've had for at least ten years and I coloured the cute image with Promarkers.  The image was die cut with a Memory Box 'Stitched Oval Layers' die.  I used a Sue Wilson's 'Pawprint Lattice' embossing folder for the background.  The pawprints down the sides panels were done with a border punch.  A sentiment and two punched flowers finished off my card.

Gift Card Holder

A gift card holder I made after watching a demo for this fold on the Nifty Noodles Crafting Facebook page.

The patterned paper is from an old Lili of the Valley 'Perfect Pair' paper pad.  I made a tag with a Stampin' Up punch for the message and embellished the front of the card with Card Candi.

The flowers were made with a Sue Wilson's 'Petite Forget Me Nots' dies and the leaf is from a Lisa Horton's set of dies.  The inside of the card also includes a pocket for the gift card.

Thinking of You

A CAS card to share today using a few snippets.  When I read today's post on the Snippets Playground blog, I was surprised to see the very same bunny die on Di's card that I've used on my card.  Great minds think alike, Di! 😉  It's the first time I've used this cute bunny die, so I'll be sharing my card over in the NBUS challenge,

I used a large snippet of green card for the mat, which started life as a file divider for one of my school files. (When I was teaching, not as a pupil...... it's old, but not that old! 🤣)  I used a Memory Box 'Large Circle Burst' die in a square of white card and layered it over the green mat.  The circle was cut with the same die and inlaid into the card.  The bunny was die cut with a snippet of grey card.  I stamped a Woodware sentiment using Versafine Clair 'Morning Mist' and added three pearls in green and yellow.

Allsorts Challenge ~ Create Your Own Background

The optional theme of the Allsorts Challenge this week is 'Create Your Own Background.

For the background I used a Stamp Addicts 'Beaded Curtain' stamp, stamped with Versafine Clair 'Morning Mist'.  I coloured a few of the circles with a pink Promarker.  I die cut the Poppystamps 'Small Tilda Swirl' in pink and grey and attached  them together, before layering on grey and white Memory Box 'Stitched Circle Layers' mats.  I added a punched flower to the middle with a tiny, pale grey pearl in the centre.  The sentiment is a stamp from the Stampin' Up 'Best Year' set, stamped using the same grey ink pad as the background.  I added two pale grey pearls to the pink panel.

Hidden Panels Card

The Butterfly Challenge has the theme 'H for Hidden Panels'.  The other elements are Havoc (dark red), Heather, Highland (soft mint), Hawkes Blue (soft shade of blue) and Hemp (jute).  Mrs A. has put the instructions for the fold HERE.

For my card I've gone with the Hidden Panels Fold, Heather, Highland and Hemp.

The patterned paper on the front is from a paper pad from The Works.  The butterfly was made with Memory Box 'Vivienne Butterfly' and 'Darla Butterfly' die cuts.  The only jute I had was brown so I coloured it with a green Promarker.  It was thicker than I would have liked and I couldn't split it, so I think I need to invest in some thinner jute.

Happy Easter

HAPPY EASTER
Happy Easter to everyone visiting my blog.  My hubby and I had a lovely afternoon today visiting Avebury where there is one of the best known prehistoric sites in Britain.  It contains the largest megalithic stone circle in the world.  There are a few photos at the end of this post.

I saw the instructions for a Trellis card HERE on Lesley's blog and this is my version.  I changed the dimensions slightly, so my finished card measures 5" x 6 1/2”.

The strips for the trellis are 1/2" wide, so perfect for using up some of my snippets.  The mats on the panel were snippets too.  The patterned paper was from a 12" x 12" paper pad from The Range.  One of the pages had large sunflowers on so, as much as I dislike fussy cutting, I cut out two and attached them with foam pads to add some dimension.  The sentiment is a stamp from the Stampin' Up 'Best Year' set, stamped in navy blue.
