Cluck Cluck and an Easter Bunny

Last weekend I went on the three day crafting event with friends.  The were about fifty crafters there, with everyone doing their own thing, but plenty of time to see all the fabulous projects being created.  Most crafters were scrapbookers, but I chose to make lots of cards.  I still need to take photos of the cards I made, which I'll add to my blog over the next few weeks.

It was my great niece's 12th birthday yesterday and this is the card I made for her.  She keeps chickens and sells their eggs to the neighbours, so this was the starting point for her card.

I made a Three Panel card, with a crossed stitched hen design on the front panel.  The cross stitching was done with crochet cotton on a MFT cross stitching die cut.  I used Stampin' Up patterned papers left over from previous projects.  The middle panel was embossed with a Crafts-Too 'Feathers' embossing folder to keep the bird theme.

The card measures 5" x 7" when folded.  The gingham paper was only 6" x 6", so I cut it into two pieces to fit the back panel and put a strip of green card to cover the join and added five punched hearts.  The card folds flat for posting.  There is a space on the back panel to write a message.

I am joining in the following challenges with this card:

My second card is an Easter Card.
The bunny is a Woodward stamp 'Hoppy Bunny', stamped with Versafine 'Onyx Black' and paper pieced. The papers were all snippets from a Stampin' Up paper stack.  I used Memory Box 'Stitched Square Layers for the square die cuts and added three tiny green pearls.

I am joining in the following challenges with this card:

  1. You obviously did a lot of creating on your fun weekend Liz and the first is a beautiful three panel card and love the cross stitched chicken on the front and the gingham and feather embossing both go with the theme perfectly, and in such wonderful bright colours and I'm sure your great niece will absolutely adore it. How lovely that she keeps chickens and sells the eggs...an entrepreneur in the making..lol. The second with the cute Easter Bunny looks great paper pieced, and I love the striped paper you have added to the card in a matching colour and using that bright and pretty green too. I look forward to seeing all the cards you made over the next few weeks. x

  3. I recall this Niece from previous years, was probably because of the chicken connection. I am sure she will love her very personalised card and I am still itching to try out this design as the fold is so different.

Moving on to your Easter card, a delightful Bunny, I do love a bit of paper piecing. Lovely to see you at Stamping Sensations and We Love Stamping, many thanks for joining in.

  14. This chicken card is adorable and I love that you always design a card for the person's taste. The polka dot bunny is cute as can be. I don't know how I've missed all the cards you've made lately but I love them all. I especially like how you cute the paper with the scene and used it. That is gorgeous and I would like to case that at some point. Your trip to London sounds wonderful and all the things you got to do there.
