Triple Tag Card

Beccy's Month of Holiday Cards Challenge begins today (well tomorrow here, but today in Australia).  So this is my card for the letter 'A',   A for the colour 'Aqua'.  I first saw the instructions for the fold HERE and thought it would work well for a Christmas card.

All the patterned paper is from a paper pad I bought in The Works.  The card is kept closed with ribbon.

The card opens up to reveal tags for writing messages, which are in little pockets.

This is the back of the card.

Sunflower Gnome

I recently visited the World Heritage Site, Stonehenge.....
...... and there is a lovely little craft shop a couple of miles away in Amesbury.  I left my hubby in a coffee shop in Amesbury, while I had a browse in the craft shop.  I had my eye on this Woodware 'Sunflower Gnome' when I first saw it online and when I saw it in the shop, I just had to buy it...... with quite a few other crafty goodies.

I coloured the image with Promarkers.  I stamped the bees a second time, fussy cut and coloured them and layered them over the original bees just by the bodies so the wings were free, to add some dimension.  The background was embossed with an Embossalicious 'Honeycomb Patchwork' e/f.  I added a sentiment and two tiny punched sunflowers.

Ladies' Night

I missed a Ladies' Night dinner/dance this month as we were on holiday, so I made a card for each of the Chairmen to wish them good luck with their speeches.  I made two similar CAS cards, one feminine and one masculine, just changing the colours.
I used a Tonic 'Ladies Night' die, which I bought a few years ago for 50p in craft shop sale - one of my bargain buys. 😊  I used the same purple card for the mat.  I layered the die cut on a white, pearlised, pre-embossed square of card.  Three purple pearls finished off my card, which look a darker shade IRL.

Here is a close up of the embossing, which looks especially beautiful when the light catches it.

For the masculine version, I just used black instead of purple.  The embossing is quite subtle, so I thought it would look fine for a masculine card.

Dolphins

A 'Thank You' card I can post on my blog now that I know it has arrived at its destination.

I used a  Marianne Design 'Cross Stitch' die in white card and die cut it into a square with a Memory Box 'Stitched Square Layers' die.  I used crochet cotton for cross stitching the dolphin design, then layered it on a grey mat.  The  strip of ribbon was layered on a slightly wider piece of grey card and the stitched image attached with foam tape over the top.  A sentiment stamped in grey finished off my card.

Splash

The optional theme of the Allsorts Challenge is 'Vintage', so I decided to go with a vintage style swimming costume.

The stamp is Acid Drops & Whatnots 'Does My Bum Look Big In This?'.  I've had the stamp set for quite a few years and the text stamp no longer stamps cleanly, so I printed the same words on the computer with a similar font.  I coloured the image with Promarkers, adding a little sparkle with a clear Wink of Stella glitter pen over the water.  The background was embossed with Sheena Douglass 'Water Ripple' embossing folder.  A few blue sequins finished off my card.

Paper Pieced Robin

The October Rudolph Days Challenge begins today and runs until the end of the month.  The challenge this month is slightly different, as there is an optional challenge to include paper piecing.  This is in honour of Kath of Plain & Simple who sadly passed away recently.  Kath often did beautiful paper piecing on her cards, which I'm sure were regularly seen by many bloggers.

The stamp is a Woodware one, 'Patch Robin Square'.  The blue background and red berries are coloured with Promarkers.  Everything else in the image is paper pieced with Christmas papers.  I used the same patterned papers for the background, punching out three circles to put along the panel in the middle.

Peel Offs

After a conversation with crafty friends recently about the mountain of ancient, unused peel offs we all have, I decided to make this card.

I attached the black peel offs on little squares of white card, layered on slightly larger black mats.  I coloured the flowers with Promarkers and added a peel off sentiment.  All the card, except for the card blank was snippets, so I'll be sharing my card over in The Playground.  The peel offs were all from part-used sheets, so I guess you could call them snippets too. 😉

Butterfly Joy Fold Card

A Joy Fold card to share today.

The butterfly is a die from Sue Wilson's Industrial Collection 'Butterfly & Dragonfly' set.   I used a Creative Expressions 'Cogs & Gears' embossing folder which I thought went well with the style of the butterfly.   I added a strip of yellow and white ribbon and a yellow brad keeps the card closed.

This photo shows the card open, revealing the space to write the message.  I put an Xcut cog die cut inside to add some detail.

Double Z Fold Card and HELP needed.

Help!  For any techie people reading my blog, when I try to link my card up to challenge with a 'Linky Tools v 2.0' I don't get the option of linking a photo from my actual post.   This has only happened in the last few days.  Any ideas why this is happening?

EDITED TO ADD: I think I've managed to solve the problem, although it will be a bit of a faff to do every time.  I think blogger must have changed one of their setting recently, as I haven't had this problem until recently.

It's my son's birthday today and this is the card I made for him.

The patterned paper is from Anna Marie Designs.

The blank panel inside is for writing the message.

Pink and White

A pink birthday card, which I hope reached it's destination.

The card base was made with a Sizzix 'Circle Flip-its #2' die and the patterned paper was from an old paper pad.  I decorated the front with a die cut flowers from Lisa Horton's first box kit.

The sentiment in the back was stamped with a magazine freebie stamp.

Hedgehogs

A CAS one layer card to share today, inspired by several similar designs online.  Unfortunately have no idea who made the first card to give them the credit.

I masked off a panel on the card blank using masking tape and blended Distress Ink along the panel.  Leaving the tape in place I blended the same ink through a Lavinia 'Feather Leaf'  stencil.  I removed the tape, lined up the stencil and added a little more stencilling in the corners.  The hedgehogs are stamps from the Lavinia 'The Wallace Family' set and I stamped a little pink heart.  A stamped sentiment finished off my card.

Halloween Treat Boxes

I've been looking for my mojo recently and I found it at my monthly craft group yesterday.  After seeing a video tutorial HERE for making these little boxes, I was keen to give them a try.  I made one each for my great nephew and great nieces and I'll fill the boxes with chocolates.  The ghost are on the front and the names on the back.

I started with a 10" x 5" piece of black card to make the card base.  I embossed the orange card with a Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots' embossing folder.  The ghost was die cut with an old Sizzix die - one of the thick yellow ones.  The names were die cut with Memory Box 'Uppercase Alphabet Soup' dies, layered on a black mat. (The names ARE stuck on straight, although the angle of the photo makes the name look like it's at an angle.) Finally, I tied the boxes with black ribbon.

Fly.....

A CAS card to share today.

The butterfly was made with Memory Box 'Pippi Butterfly' and 'Isabella Butterfly' dies and I added tiny grey pearls for the flight path.  The sentiment is computer generated in grey.  I finished the card with five Card Candi.

Block Card

Another 'new to me' fold, following the instructions on the Nifty Noodles Crafting Facebook page.  The card base was made with just one rectangle of white card and was so much easier to make than it looks.

I decorated the card with squares of white and black dotty papers. The flowers were made with punches.

I decided to leave the back undecorated and stamped a sentiment from the SU 'Humming Along' set of stamps.   The card folds flat for posting.

Double Tent Fold Card

Another fancy fold card today, a fold I haven't tried before.  I'm not sure if it's got an official name, so I think I'll call it a Double Tent Fold Card.

It's basically just two card blanks, one slightly smaller than the other, with the small card inside the larger one, attached by the back.  I used the rectangle die cut from the front as a mat for the sentiment and lined it up with the aperture when assembling the card.  The sentiment is a Stamp Market 'Paper Hug' die and I embossed the border with an old Sizzix embossing folder.  Four clear flower gems finished off my card.

All the purple and lilac card was from my snippets drawer, so I'll be sharing my card over in the Playground.

Fairy Couple

A card today using a die which has sadly been discontinued.  The die is quite a large die, measuring about 4½" across.

The die is Lavinia 'Celtic Dreams ~ Star Gazing', which I used with black card.  I blended Distress Ink for the sky, masking off the moon with a circle of card.  I layered the finished scene on a navy mat and added tiny clear gems for the stars.  The background was embossed with a Creative Expressions 'Shimmering Stars' e/f, layered on a  navy mat.  Six punched stars finished off my card.
