Staggered Front Card

My hubby and I spent last weekend in London.  Our daughter bought us tickets to watch England play football (soccer) against Ukraine in Wembley Stadium. (Something I can now cross off my bucket list.) We had a packed weekend, which also included watching the Jersey Boys Musical and Agatha Christie's  'Witness for the Prosecution' play, an eight mile walk along the Thames Path and a Beatles Magical Mystery walking tour, where we ending walking across the Abbey Road zebra crossing.  We didn't plan for the six hours in the minor injuries/A & E at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital on the last day, but at least we still managed to catch the coach home in the evening.

I watched a video on Nifty Noodles Crafting Facebook page today demonstrating this Staggered Front Card.  The video I watched had five separate horizonal white panels on the front, but I decided to make the front of the card in one piece.

The papers are from a paper pad from The Works.  The sentiment is from the Stampin' Up 'Greatest Part of Christmas' stamp set, stamped with Versafine Clair ' Twilight'.

Allsorts Challenge ~ Rain

The optional theme for the Allsorts Challenge this week is 'Rain'.

My DT card is a Bay Window card.  The image and sentiment are stamps from the Inkylicious set, 'Dancing in the Rain', stamped with Versafine 'Onyx Black'.  The patterned paper is from a paper pad which came as a cover gift with a magazine quite a few years ago.  I added some tiny blue gems for raindrops and tiny white pearls down the panel on the left.

The finished card measures 5" x 7" and folds flat for posting.

Hexagonal 3D Card

A Hexagonal 3D Card.  I followed the instructions for the fold on the Nifty Noodles Crafting Facebook page.

I used a Memory Box 'Fuchsia Sprig' die, cutting it out three times with snippets of green and two shades of pink, with the flower head layered with the different colours.   The ovals are Memory Box 'Stitched Oval Layers' dies.  I used snippets of patterned paper from a paper pad from The Works.  The pad was 12" x 12", so there are always lots of snippets to use up after I've cut into a full sheet.

There is a plain white panel on the back to write a message.  The card folds flat for posting.

Allsorts Challenge ~ Perfect Pastels (Spring Colours)

The Allsorts Challenge this week has the theme 'Perfect Pastels (Spring colours)' or you can go with the Anything Goes Option.

For my DT card I made a Three Panel Card.  I followed Lesley Kilby's instructions HERE.  The front panel is embossed with a Lisa Horton's 'Padded Quilt' embossing folder.  The flower is made with Lisa Horton dies and the patterned papers are from a paper pad from The Range.

The back panel has a piece of white card for the message and I added another die cut flower for added interest.  The card folds flat for posting.

50th Birthday Card

A Folding Book Fold birthday card for a friend who is celebrating her fiftieth birthday tomorrow.  This is the second card I've made using this fold, after watching a video on the Nifty Noodles Crafting Facebook page.  My first card is HERE.

The patterned paper is from a paper pad  which came as the cover gift with a craft magazine a few years ago.  I used a Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots' for the two front panels.  The flower is a Memory Box 'Prim Poppy' die cut.  I cut it first in green and then in red, snipping of the red flower heads and layering over the green ones.  I used dies from The Works for the numbers.

I entered the first Floating Book Fold Card into the March Memory Box Challenge and somehow missed that I should have used red as a feature element on the card, so I'll be joining in the challenge again with this card.

Tent Fold Card

Welcome my latest follower, Hilary of Fiddling About.  Thank you for following me.

The theme of the current Butterfly Challenge is 'T for Tent Fold Card'.  Mrs A has put the instructions HERE and it's really easy to make. The other elements for the challenge are Teal, Tea Green, Thistle, Tango Pink, Twine and a Butterfly.  I changed the measurement slightly and my finished card measures 5" x 7".  I used the card fold, Twine, Teal, Tango Pink and a butterfly.

I used Teal patterned paper from a paper pad from The Works.  The butterfly was made with Memory Box 'Vivienne Butterfly' and 'Darla Butterfly'. The white and Tango Pink mats were die cut with Memory Box 'Stitched Square Layers' dies.  I wound Tango Pink and white twine round the patterned card twice, securing in the middle on the front and on the back, before layering over a Tango Pink mat.  The sentiment is a stamp for the Stampin' Up 'Humming Along' set, stamped with Versafine 'Warm Breeze'.  The sentiment is raised up on foam pads.

Here is a side view of the card.

For my DT card, I've made a Spring Fold Card with a trio of flowers. The flowers were made with dies from the Sue Wilson 'Passion Flower' set and I added little white pearls in the centres. The patterned paper is from a paper pad from The Works.  I die cut the sentiment and mat with a Sizzix die.

Envelope Card and Get Well Card

A card I made for a friend's birthday after watching a video on the Nifty Noodles Crafting Facebook page HERE.

The patterned paper is from a paper pad from The Range.  The card it kept closed with a tiny spider magnet in the bottom right hand corner, which I put under the patterned paper so it wouldn't show.  The sentiment is a stamp from the Stampin' Up 'Painted Glass' set, stamped in navy blue, layered on a teal mat and raised up on foam pads.  I made a tag with two of the dies from the Poppystamps 'Pinpoint Main Street Tags' set and added a Lisa Horton's die cut flower and leaf to the front.  The back of the tag was left plain to write the message.

The right hand flap is attached to the back along the bottom edge so that it creates a pocket for the tag.

A second card today,  a Get Well card made a while ago which I forgot to post on my blog.
I used a Lisa Horton 'Blooming Peony' embossing folder with white card.  I used the e/f again with a snippet of pink card over one of the flowers and fussy cut it out around the edge of the flowers and attached it over the original white flower.

Masculine Diagonal Joy Fold Card

A fairly quick make today for my nephew, as I need to get it in the post this week to send abroad.

After making a Diagonal Joy Fold Card as a 6" x  4" card HERE, I managed to find a stockist of 7" x 5" card blanks, so I was able to make it in a bigger size.
The patterned paper is from a Dovecraft 'True Blue' paper pad.  The mats are navy pearlised card.

The Happy Birthday die cut is on the top panel which lifts up to reveal a white space to write a message.

Circle Easel Card

This is my second post today, please scroll down to see my previous post.

The March Crafty Calendar Challenge begins today with the theme 'Buttons/Bows'.  Our generous sponsor this month is All Dressed Up.

Our sponsor kindly gave us digi images to work with and I chose 'Summer Swing'.  I coloured the image with Promarkers and added three clear gems.  I made the easel with Lisa Horton’s stitched circle/scalloped dies.   The sentiment is raised up on foam tape to act as a stopper for the easel and I embellished the card with three buttons.

The Crafty Calendar Challenge ends on 28th March.  Please pop over to the challenge blog to see all the beautiful cards the DT have made.  Looking forward to seeing all your amazing creations.

Allsorts Challenge ~ Four Legged Friends

I was delighted to be invited to join the Allsorts Challenge DT.  This is my first DT card and the theme this week is 'A/G with the option of Four Legged Friends - real domestic animals'.

I made a Joy Fold card featuring a dachshund made with dies from the Marianne Designs 'Dachshund' set and used Memory Box 'Stitched Rectangle Layers' for matting and layering.  The patterned paper is from an old Papermania paper pad and I embossed the front panel with a Crafts Too 'Bone + Paw Print' embossing folder.  The card is kept closed with a green brad.
