Outside My Window

Welcome to my new follower, Mac Mable of The Sweetest of Peas.  Thank you for following my blog.

I didn't think I'd have time to make a card this week  for the Less is More challenge as we were in beautiful North Devon and only came home last night.  However, when I looked outside our caravan window last weekend, after seeing that the challenge was 'What's outside your window', I remembered a stamp I had at home which would be perfect for the challenge. So..... I'm sneaking in a last minute entry today.

Here is the view from the window....

......and here is my card.
The caravan is stamped on a snippet of cream card, with a £1 Hobbycraft stamp.  I used Promarkers for the windows, curtains and tyres and the image was then cut out.  The grass is embossed with a Cuttlebug 'Forest Branches' embossing folder and die cut with a Lawn Fawn 'Hillside Borders' die.  The clouds were die cut with Memory Box 'Puffy Clouds' dies.

I would like to enter my card for the following challenges:

  6. What a great view to create such a fun card. My parents enjoy going away in their caravan so I always keep an eye out for caravan things to make cards for Dad with. Funnily enough they've been away for 2 nights picking up their new (to them) van. The dealer has a caravan site as well so gives all buyers two free nights on the site so that they can try out the van and learn how to use everything and sort any niggles out for them. Their lunar had to have loads of things replaced due to water ingress (under warranty) and they lost confidence in it
Still trying to convince hubby that caravans are fun. We've borrowed my parents for the past two years for the gold panning championships, he doesn't mind towing it. Dad made me laugh, Mum decided she wanted a solar panel on the new van. The sales guy asked if they did a lot of camping without electric (you need some electric for the blown air heating as whilst it runs on gas it only operates with the blown air rather than a heater in the van, if you get what I mean). Mum replied no, but commented that when we borrow the van, one weekend a year, we have no electric as it's wild camping. So according to Dad they've forked out for a solar panel for us to use once a year. He said it was worth it if it stopped her worrying about me!
Whoops waffled on loads there. Hope you enjoyed your trip away and that you have a relaxing Easter. Cara x

    1. We changed our caravan a couple of months ago and had the same offer of a couple of free nights on the site for the changeover. Makes things so much easier. The first thing I did was allocate a cupboard as my craft cupboard, as I keep a basic craft kit in the caravan. :-) Hope you have a good Easter too. xx

  10. Lovely card, perfect for a caravan lover. Caravans seem to bring out a love/hate reaction in people, I'm afraid ever since I was 11 years old I've been on Team Hate. We went for a touring holiday with a hired one on the car - Dad had never driven with a caravan on the back before and managed to break the entire rear axle of the car on the first day. While it was being repaired, we had to wait, in the caravan in the pouring rain, in the car park of a salt factory beside a busy road. And my brother and I both felt unwell - Mum thought it was just the stress. But next day we had head to toe rashes - German Measles. So I mentally associate caravans with a lot of bad memories!

    1. Although ours is a touring caravan, we don't tow it anymore. We keep it permanently on one site and use it like a second home. It's great for having a break whenever we have a few spare days....... and we don't cause a problem on the roads. ;-) xx

  11. A lovely card Liz and I'm glad you enjoyed your break in North Devon. We used to be caravanners - and loved it - but sold the caravan when we moved to Devon (as it helped to fund our move!).
