The Butterly Challenge this fortnight is 'Butterflies +Z is for Zero and/or Zucchini' which interpreted mean 'Zero and shades of green or yellow'. As I needed to make a 70th birthday card this week, my card has a zero as well as green and yellow.
The stamp is an old wood mounted Funstamp, 'Stitched Butterfly', which I stamped with Memento 'Tuxedo Black' and coloured with three shades of green and three shades of yellow Promarkers. The image and sentiment are matted and layered using MB 'Stitched Squares and Circles'. The sentiment is raised up on foam pads. For the embossed background I used an Xcut 'Tartan Background' embossing folder. I added a Creative Expressions 'String Flower' die cut and used Tonic Nuvo Crystal Drops for the centre of the flower and also for the tips of the butterfly's antennae.
I am joining in the following challenges:
Speaking of a coincidence, I just bought the same embossing folder as you have used here Liz. And speaking of another coincidence, I only test ran it, and here it comes, with the same colour cardstock as you have used here. Amazing isn't it ????? But I love your card the butterfly is so pretty. Enjoy the weekend, hugs Veerle x
ReplyDeleteWhat a coincidence! I bought the embossing folder in a sale a while ago, but I think it's the first time I've used it. It seemed perfect to go with the stitched butterfly image. xx
DeleteA beautiful card and image Liz, I like the embossing folder and it does go with the stitched image very well.

Love the shades here which all go so well together. Strange how we tend to buy things on a must have it basis and then don't do anything with it for ages. Thankyou for fluttering by my challenge. hugs Mrs A.
ReplyDeleteI love this card Liz. The Tartan EF looks great with that pretty butterfly stamp and the String Flower die works well with it too, and what a gorgeous green background. A fabulous 70th birthday card. x
