Welcome to my new follower, Janice Oakes. I can't find a link to your blog, so please leave me a comment so I can add a link in my next post.
It's well over a week since I had time to get into my craft room. I've spent most days for the last couple of weeks supply teaching - so much for retirement! LOL! So the choice today was crafting or housework - it was a close thing, but the housework can wait until tomorrow. 😉
The Less is More Challenge this week is 'Washi Tape'. As I have a little box full of washi tape gathering dust, it seemed the perfect time to actually use some of it. I'm not sure why I rarely think to use it.
The cat is a Poppystamps die cut, 'Large Walking Cat'. I used the washi tape for the cat to walk along as well as using it to make a frame for the sentiment. The sentiment is computer generated and cut to fit the washi tape, leaving a border of dots. Using washi tape meant that was a really quick CAS card to make, so I think I will be using it more often in future.
I am joining in the following challenges:
I'm all in favor of crafting and no housework!
ReplyDeleteLove your cute card and the washi is wonderful on here.

This really is a sweet card Liz. A really good way to use your washi tape. I think you made the right choice! The dust would have settled again by tomorrow anyway! Barbxx

That is so effective Liz, and a great idea for washi tape
ReplyDeleteGlad you have your priorities right, crafting before housework every time! This card is gorgeous, purrfect in fact

Such a lovely CAS! I have many neglected washi tapes, too... thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteLove this Liz! The cat is an elegant image and it looks like it is strutting it's stuff on that catwalk of washi tape. ;-) How impressive does the sentiment look with the washi behind it? Just like it is a sign with lights flashing all around it. Ha! I'm with you on what takes precedence between housework and crafting! Thanks so much for sharing this with us at Less is More xx
ReplyDeleteLooks really good and reminds me of a 'Catwalk' pardon the pun.

This is a wonderful CAS card Liz and I love your black cat walking along the washi tape which cut at an angle has the look of a rug, and the sentiment cut to fit another piece works well. x

ReplyDeleteHalfway through a comment and - poof! It disappeared! Love this card and the cat strolling along the washi tape - as well as the backing for the sentiment! Like you, I don't really think to use washi yet have a fair few rolls. Think I might leave them on my desk for a week or so to encourage me to use it more!

This is one of the best uses of washi tape I think I've seen. It's perfect as a walkway for this strolling cat! I like the way you've tucked the sentiment atop the same pattern. Cool card! TFS
ReplyDeleteThat is one thing I don't have much of - Washi tape, but you really made this card fabulous with the use of it. Kind of like a cat walk! Great idea!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous use of Washi tape, Liz! Love this!! I thought you'd gone quiet so now I know why. You'll have to practice saying this when the phone rings: "Sorry, I won't be able to come in today as my Mojo's flaring up, you see, and I must stay home." lol! All kidding aside, you're doing a good deed by being there for them when they need you! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteGreat use of the Washi tape. Cool card. So glad you joined us at Die Cut Divas.
ReplyDeleteI love your use of washi tape - I have lots in my stash but it rarely sees the light of day. You have inspired me to try something different with it. Cats have a place in my heart so this card is a real winner for me. Hugs, Ane
ReplyDeleteThe washi looks so good as ground for the cat! Simple, but such a great design! Hope you did enjoy teaching so much! And the household...well it will be there for many more days :)... Enjoy the weekend and the more relaxing time!
